Cenaze tombak ustası Nasser Farhangfar'ın cenazesi. Neyzen de Mohammad Mousavi'dir. 3 yakın arkadaşın son buluşması. (Şeceryan'ı da yazmayayım artık) Ekşi'de biri diyor ki okuduğu Hayyam'ın şu rubaisi olabilir; can yoldaşı dostlar çekildi gittiler ecel çiğnedi hepsini birer birer yan yana oturmuştuk hayat sofrasına bizden birkaç kadeh önce sızdı gittiler.

I love the old masters. But John Alinejad is wrong in saying the great artists are getting less by the minute. Pessimistic nonsense! Dariush Tala'i is still going strong. And a lot of young musician show their great talent. Only yesterday, 11 march 2016, I saw Mohammad Motamedi perform here in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Persian music is very much alive!

+Snakesborough my friend what I meant was of the old masters,,true there are a lot of new up and coming musicians about, but I'm afraid they don't have the passion and selflessness of the old masters,,, not until they have proven themselves ,,do you hand on heart can you say you have found a replacement for Ostad Jalil Shahnaz ???? if you have I would like to hear it
@Snakesborough8 жыл бұрын
John Alinejad Dear friend, I am happy to know that we share a love for Persian music. And to answer your question: there can be no replacement for any soul born in this our valley of tears, all souls are unique unto God. Jalil Shahnaz can never be replaced. But can you hand on heart be sure that in his youth Jalil Shahnaz was as full of deep selfless passion as he was in his later years? And can you hand on heart believe that not one of the young Persian musicians can reach selfless passion? I hope not, because that would be a sad thing with no hope for the future of Persian music. Now, on the eve of the Holy Week of my faith I will listen with great dedication to the music you have posted, for which I thank you. May Persian music flourish!

+Snakesborough My friend it is wrong of me to ever assume that no one will ever be as good as the old masters,,,far be it I'm not talking about Technic by the way, when the likes of Shahnaz , or the young RIP Yahaghi as my father used call him , were learning their tread it was a freedom on music, I know that as I used to attend master Vegan's guitar classes before finding classic instruments, the old masters learned their tread the hard way by serving long apprenticeship, but today as most young go for the pop (not all) not that there is anything wrong with that, the incentive or the encouragement is not there from the Authorities!!! to push them in that direction, but you are right there are young artists who are good but for every one today who chooses classical Persian music there are 1000ed who don't as is quicker to choose Pop,,,but you are right in the eve of the Noo Rooz what is better to enjoy this old classic and may I wish you and all the hamvatans around world a happy Noo Rooz and wonderful new year to come. PS perhaps one day when there is another classic performance in your lovely Netherlands you would invite us too,,,

I do share your worry about all the music in the world being eaten up by popmusic. And maybe I am optimistic because recently i have seen two excellent Persian musicians perform in Utrecht, and one of them was my favourite setar player Dariush Tala'i. I wish you a happy Noo Rooz. I myself was referring to the Roman Catholic holy week (Hebdomada Sancta) which starts tomorrow with Palm Sunday (Dominica in Palmis). Happy Noo Rooz! And may the Persian music flourish!

Stoic, profound, noble and powerful. The harmony amongst the players and singers are absolutely touching. The main singer Seyyed Khalil Ali Nejad is delivering an amazing message. He is like a torch in darkness that opens the path. I am deeply saddened to learn his most meaningful voice was silenced. May his beautiful soul rest at peace!
