I'm glad Stu went back to his acoustic style. electric blues doesn't suit him.

One of my favorite albums - heard him in person a few times. With Charley Musselwhite (harmonica), Levon Helm (drums?), and Mike Bloomfield (piano?) on this cut, it really is outstanding. Although the album notes indicate Bloomfield on piano, there doesn’t seem to be any in this song, and other sources have a different arrangement - e.g. Helm may not be the drummer, and sounds to me like Bloomfield is playing electric guitar!

Wow! Sooo glad you put this up! I loved this band back in those good old days of coffeehouses in Philly! I think I saw them at the Second of Autumn. I saw Danny at some tiny venue whose name I don’t recall in New Jersey, too….

Danny was a great guy, I knew him and brother David. I had the music city store on Cottman , Danny’s pal Evan, a young drummer, worked for me. I recorded a bunch at Starr Studios and saw Danny around town at gigs like Grendel’s Lair and Hecates.

My first show…S.E. Mass in ‘75. My brothers were in a group that staged shows locally…and somehow talked my parents into letting me go. The one thing I really remember is them doing the old R&B tune “Don’t You Just Know It”, because my 7 YO ass thought the “gooba gooba gooba part was f***in’ hilarious. Last time I saw him was at the Melody Tent on the Cape, he sat in with Dr. John on “I Walk On Gilded Splinters” it was an awesome version.

Played this song regularly as a DJ in college, WRCU at Colgate University, 1977. Kitchen workers at Student Union would call me up to play it again, 'cause they were dancing around the kitchen to it making lunch.

My dad was the drummer in this band. They were the first to make Midnight Confessions as a band called Elijah. Circumstances within the industry got in the way of them making it big, but they were connected to many big names. They are from East L.A. thanks for the comment.

Still play this vinyl once in a while--especially this number. Danny stopped by our campfire one night at the 1969? PFF, and treated us to some blues. (Lent him my guitar, of course!) Then maybe a year later I ran into him at Zapf's, in Olney, one afternoon, when he was trying out a D-45. So I had to ask him: show me how you play that Gary Davis "Let us get together", and he did, right there. What a guitarist. I think I remember Willy Zapf watching, too. RIP and thanks, Danny.
