Put in the bolt and ejector spring back together for your tactic is bullshit. It’s nearly impossible. Some of the worst directions I’ve ever seen. Looks like I’m gonna end up buying a bolt already already assembled such horseshit.

Whatever you do do not take the ejector spring off at all. It does not go back on correctly and will not lock in. Do not follow these instructions. They are incorrect. Rossi doesn’t help any because they’re garbage, but in the meantime, you gotta do something right

In my opinion: Usually the strain screw adjusts the hammer pull received weight. I have yet to see one that is screwed all the way into the frame. It's a poor design that gives a weird break compared to everything else. But hey, it's a Smith & Wesson round butt K frame of all things. You don't reduce screws with a vice & file. You need a screw vise & grinding stone for that. Also under no circumstances are hardware store needle nose pliers ever used in gunsmithing. So amazing how people think trigger pull is so technical with all those spring gadgets to measure a particular spot that's nowhere near what a natural finger pull feels like. 7 to 9lbs is just fine. The problem is if you lighten the tension too much the hammer will float & todder about the pivot pin. This causes wear with drag on the frame slot & ruins trigger jobs.

I’ll be taking possession of a Rossi r92 soon and am debating between doing this and simply spending a weekend cycling the action. Though I won’t get the lighter trigger, which I’m not really interested in anyway, I suspect that Rossi and others cut corners on machining because they know the action will smooth out over time. On the hammer spring, I don’t see much value in lightening it. I’ve done it for double action revolvers but this doesn’t make as much sense to me.

Old video i know but i must say i have and original 5.5in blued buckmark. Was my first pistol at 13. Im 47 now and Its still more accurate than I can see. One hole groups at 20 yards. And yea minute of tin can at 100 yards more often than not. Ive killed all sorts of critters over the years. Including and squirrel shot in the eye from 25 yards. With a witness lol. And a turkey head shot at 30 35 yards. Fantastic little pistol and pretty reliable with most ammo. But it really likes the federal punch and the cci sub sonic loads.

I sympathize a lot with that statement. I used to have an economics professor who would say we vote with our dollars more than our ballots. In my case there aren't a lot of options here, the price difference was substantial, and to some extent I knew what I was getting into. Given the choice between a Rossi or a Henry for example, I'd certainly take the Henry; but I'm in a Rossi tax bracket ;)

Don't buy this junk gun at any price. It's unsafe and doesn't operate correctly. My wife bought one, because it is American made and had the features she was looking for, like barrel length, double action, adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight. Sounds great until you try to shoot it. Out of the box, the first time fired, the extractor rod jammed. We tried using some gun oil to see if we could free it at home. No luck, so we took the gun to our local gun dealer/smith. They said they repaired it. Citing, excessive oil and debris. Mind you this gun was new, straight out of the box. It had never been oiled by us until after the extractor rod jammed and it never touched the ground or anything besides the box it came in. Since when would excessive oil, jam an extractor rod. Except if you imagine it collected debris, after 6 shots and being put back in the box it came in. The same day we tried firing the gun. In single action, the cylinder did not index properly and required you to manually rotate the cylinder to get it to lock. Alternatively, pulling the hammer back again, caused the cylinder to rotate a live round past the firing pin. Leaving an unfired round in the cylinder. This is very dangerous, for an inexperienced shooter. After you think the last round has been fired, you can pull the trigger in double action, several times, then surprise there's a round being fired. Also the adjustable sight only allows for 1 turn to lower the factory elevation. For her, we could only get an accurate site picture at about 50ft. I would like to be able to adjust it down to 10ft. Also the grip is rather small and they don't offer a larger one. I noticed the star indexing gear at the rear of the cylinder was very small compared to other . 22 revolvers, like the less expensive Ruger Super Wrangler . 22 We sent it back to the factory 2 months ago and haven't heard back. What a waste of money.

I've had friends in the states order and then ship me things before, not sure if you know anyone there but it's my preferred method.

Thank you for reply. Sadly no, I don't have a friend in US that could ship it to me. I saw a stainless follower on ebay, though sold out. Well, I have to wait anyway. They only have blued ones here, stainless are on the way, still tempted by the blued 16" thou. Since Marlins are gone, Henries are rare and way overpriced here. I was choosing between this Rossi and Pedersoni 1886 in 45-70 gov. But later cost 40% more and ammo is 2,5x more/round. So Rossi won.

@TATVCanada
@TATVCanada Ай бұрын
Some tubular magazine firearms do have a habit of struggling with certain types of Ammo. A couple suggestions if I may: 1. If you have a vernier caliper, check your cartridge lengths. The hornady Ammo you're using may be outside (or at least at the high end) of spec. I've found shorter Ammo tends to work better in situations like these. Being you've got a 44m, try some 44s just for comparison. If you're a reloader, you can also try seating your bullets deeper or trying a different style of bullet (which it sounds like you already have/are). 2. Take a look at part 2 of this series, specifically the section on docking the mag spring. An overly powerful magazine tube spring can interfere with proper cycling of longer cartridges. If you live in the US, you can actually buy 3rd party mag springs very cheaply ($20-$25). They're a solid investment if you want to try docking the mag spring without risking your stock one.

Cool trick for thinning a spring. I have a couple S&W M&P pistol mags that are absolutely impossible to load without a speed loader. I was thinking of cutting them, but it’s also the shape of the follower that is part of the problem. It’s so hard to get the first one going. They came with my pistol cal folding carbine, and have an odd shape
