I have wheel off bike in this clip. To remove chain from bike, you’re usually using a chain breaker or quick link removal tool

Does anyone found their silca drip on wax "peeling" after being applied? It seems like the excess amount of wax is scraping from outer parts of the chain.
@onelastlap93025 күн бұрын
Yup, extra wax flakes off. It’s actually beneficial since it also sheds dirt, and keeps things clean. Wipe away any flakes before reapplying drip wax

Place bike in corner, measure wall to BB center, ground to BB centre. Then measure wall/ground to seat + handlebar centre. Then subtract BB distance to get component height/reach. I have a full (long form) video on this with more details

What if it still is a bit loose after tightening? Should it be like that or is the hanger part somehow physically damaged? I mean should it be 100% tight and not move at all or is there a bit of space on purpose? Shimano Acera derailleur
@onelastlap93027 күн бұрын
Acera probably had some play within the derailleur itself, so it will feel wobbly (the hanger is probably tight, it’s loose elsewhere)

I’ve found if you strip chain well initially, and do a good hot wax, it lasts pretty long without too much fuss, but nothing wrong with regular wipe/oil if you do regularly!

I rode across the US twice using rim brakes, no problem at all. Wet does make them weak though, but you counter that by braking early if you are going downhill in the rain. I like the fact they force you to keep your rims in true though, as they remind you when not in true. Also, they make repairing tires a little easier, as there isn't all that gear around the hubs to get in the way of a quick release pop out of the wheel.
@onelastlap93029 күн бұрын
Rim brakes are great, work well and easy to repair/trouble shoot 👍. Great riding!

Always love your video. Question is how much silca hot wax per waxing? How many times I can wax with 1 pouch? And can I reuse the silca hot wax? If so, how?
@onelastlap930210 күн бұрын
Thanks! I think for one package of wax you get around 50-60 waxes? I just leave the wax to cool in the pot, and then reheat when I have another chain to do
@vinharlie9618 күн бұрын
@@onelastlap9302 wow that's so many times per package! When the wax cools it will harden to one big chunk? Then store it again inside the package?
@onelastlap93027 күн бұрын
@ I just leave it in the pot, no need to remove 👍
@timtaylor959010 күн бұрын
You want the wax to occupy inside the barrels the more the better. Let the wax cool some before removing. Also INSEAD of hanging lay it out flat as it would be on the bike that guarantees the rollers retain a good amount of wax. You could even let the wax fully solidify before removing the chain if you're a real pro

threaded is alu glued to a carbon frame. alu expands more than carbon when temprature changes, which can cause cracks in the frame and debonding the glue. which is the whole reason why pressfit was invented.
@onelastlap930210 күн бұрын
I’ve also heard that during manufacturing, some threads can get damaged and cause frames to get scrapped, with pressfit avoiding that issues and being an easier manufacturing process
