Hi, What’s your normal go to cartridge and out of the B&P and the Zeniths which did you prefer? Thanks
@DKG.Fieldsports9 ай бұрын
I keep replying and they don’t show up for some reason. I regularly use bigger cartridges like 36g 4’s. But it was my one of the first times I had used Eley cartridges. The Zenith with the copper coated shot and the new Pro Eco wads were incredible. If you watch the video from Brimpsfield Park I did, you can see just how good they are. I can’t compare them to the B&P really, because I got on so well with the Zeniths that I just stuck with them for the rest of the season!

Love seeing the 3 different views, is Laura filming with an IPhone? When my son films me on a phone, it makes everything look so close! The GoPro’s seem to give a better representation of distance, but can be hard to see long pigeons on them.

Thank you, that is very kind and much appreciated! I will do my best to do as many videos as I can throughout the game season next year, and do my best to post a few videos throughout this summer. We didn’t actually plan on the channel doing as well as it has! We were only using KZbin as a place to store video clips of our days out, to save space on our laptop etc But as people have enjoyed them, we will make more of an effort next game season.

Are you shooting a new mk38 trap or sporting , what grade and have you had any issues with stock cracking
@DKG.Fieldsports10 ай бұрын
My MK38’s are all 32” Sporters in Grade 1. I have 3, two completely standard and my competition gun which has a custom stock on it. But I find that stock too big and bulky for game shooting with thicker clothing on. All I’ve had an issue with is one of my ejectors cracked when I was out fox shooting with 50g cartridges and I lost the top of the injector. But it was all sorted under warranty. I’d really like one of the new MK11’s 👌🏻

You like to shoot your neighbours birds 🤦♂️
@DKG.Fieldsports10 ай бұрын
It was a clear up day, the keeper wanted them shot. All the birds coming towards me were also being shot at by everyone else. It was stated in the shoot talk, etiquette is out the window. And even then, I still waited for them to be shot at before I shot at them! Unlike the guys next to me with birds coming towards me. In a normal shoot day, I’m one of the most respectful shots going. And yes, you are right under normal circumstances this wouldn’t be the “done thing”. This was a day after the beaters day and the final day of the season with 16 guns standing and two keepers stood behind them. Far from a “normal” game day.

Another 🔔 end has joined the party! What is it with these people! Watch the whole video! He explains in the intro that it’s a clear up day standing lots of guns close together and that etiquette is out the window! Wind your neck in man

Watch the intro with your ears open! He explains that it’s not a normal shoot day and that etiquette is out the window. So many jealous people! 😮
@DKG.Fieldsports10 ай бұрын
Thank you.. but Martin has raised a very good point which I want to leave for people to see. As if this was a normal day, people shouldn’t shoot how we were in this day. So it does highlight a very good point, and yes I had tried to make this clear in the intro but maybe next time I need to make it a bit clearer. We are still new making KZbin videos, so just assumed people would understand how the day would go being a “clear up day”.
@IanThompsonPhotograpthy10 ай бұрын
What a useless comment! He has explained it’s a clear up day and he’s being respectful enough to let the other guns shoot first! Unlike the other guns when a bird was heading for Dean.

How much lead was you giving them pheasants on the first drive when you was back gun?
@DKG.Fieldsports11 ай бұрын
Most of them 4-6ft

@@DKG.Fieldsports i sometimes struggle with pheasants because they’re top of trees im only giving them a little lead but i think they need some more lead
@DKG.Fieldsports11 ай бұрын
@@cameronhesling6189the lead really varies from drive to drive. Some birds with their wings set and gliding can be deceiving sometimes. The ones crossing on this drive were a little over the trees so maybe 35-40 yards but they were fast. Needed a bit more than you’d first expect! Our next video out early next week has some monster shots! And a bit of ShotKam footage that you might find interesting.
@cameronhesling618911 ай бұрын
@@DKG.Fieldsports you are some shot i must say! When shooting do you ever try guess the lead or do you just go with how fast you have to swing from behind the bird to get in front then give it some more? Some people i ask say 5ft some say you can’t give the measurement for lead you just swing through such a hard one to grasp. Looking forward to that video
@DKG.Fieldsports11 ай бұрын
@@cameronhesling6189 I shoot “pull away” technique with quite a slow gun speed. This then requires a bit more perceived lead, however for me I like to be able to measure a gap and change if im not hitting them. Swing through with a fast gun doesn’t work for me and I find it difficult to change lead accurately, if I’m not hitting them.

WHAT CHOKES were you using please? thanks
@DKG.Fieldsports11 ай бұрын
Two half chokes through 32” MK38. Express recommendations were to use 1/4, but half was the most open I had, however they patterned fine through them.
@grahamshepherd484711 ай бұрын
yes. i put 1's , steel through my 3/8 set of chokes. but yes, 1/4s are the rcommended for HP steel apparently her in UK, tho gamebore website says 1/2. so that s why I though 3/8 would be OK. Im only a novice shot, but have got a few ducks with that set up. thanks@@DKG.Fieldsports
@DKG.Fieldsports11 ай бұрын
@grahamshepherd4847 Fabarm actually say you can use hp steel through full choke! I think for most normal 30-50 yard ducks, 1/4 is fine.. I will, when I get chance pattern test these through cyl, 1/4 & 1/2 at 30 & 60 yards. Will be interesting to see what chokes actually produce the best pattern.
