How to solve this license optimization topic within vSphere to save on license cost during lower load, but automatically be able to spread out VMs across previously unused hosts when load increases? Is this the rebirth of DPM? ;) "Note: Usage Meter collects data from hosts and VMs in an active state. ... . If providers want to be sure they are not being billed for hosts VMs, they need to turn all of the VMs off on that host."

Wasn't TKGm as a product (kind of) discontinued last year already with the removal of AWS etc. support and the general focus was put on TKGs aka vSphere IaaS only? That was my info back then.

Hi and thanks for the content. I am struggling to justify the price increases? For my mass scale edge deployments in plants and warehouses (dual room) with a-la-carte skus there is no way that value is generated by VCF. Foundation SKU is not suitable as well.

Hey your videos are coming in my news feed for few days now your video quality is really good i watch your videos carefully every time the videos are good but not seo friendly u can now tell what is the full meaning of seo search engine optimization example in other words after a person comes to youtube he searches for the keywords he needs and searches for videos related to those keywords. Thus, you need to SEO your videos with the help of popular keyword research tools within the title description tag area of your videos. Keyword research needs to be done and set up. Later, if a person searches with keywords set up in the middle of your videos, they will see your videos at the top and grow organically. Video views like comments share watch time etc will increase if you want I can guide you

Hi, I am a bit puzzled, I have passed my VCP exam DATA CENTER VIRTUALIZATION Professional VMware vSphere 7.x 2V0-21.20, back in November 2023 I think. I meant to take a mandatory course for my certification to be released to me in addition of passing the exam. However, I had to go overseas and now that I am back everything is new to me, Broadcom has taken over and I get no access or replies from VMware. Would anyone know what I should be doing and how I can get my VCP certification? Cheers

The VMware Cloud Portal allows to see which Usage Meters you have, but not the data itself anymore.

We have license copy of VMWare software and wish to download and install the copy but Broadcom says to give first Site-ID. We do not have one. :( and never had. This is frustrating.

Ne, mich interessiert nicht, wie viel Geld ich habe. So lange ich essen kann, es mir gut geht und spaß habe, ist mir das restliche das Geld egal. Ich kaufe oft auch Obdachlosen Döner und Zigaretten, wenn ich am Monatsende einiges übrig habe.

Hock said very very clearly, but the latest BCM communication says that EVERY partner in the Registered tier can ask to join the Premier level, and taht CCM can offer whitelabel as well, so it seems that Hock is very very clearly stabbing you in the back.

The program terms haven't changed, they still clearly say 3500 cores are a requirement. Or did you get in writing that you will be allowed less, otherwise be careful that you do not get the minimum invoice for 3500 cores!

IMHO that info is soo deprecated.. just yesterday broadcom changed SKUs and loosed gw firewalls. and edge cores. Now all is bundeld vmware firewall

Sadly there are constant changes, yes, when will everything be final? who knows, we just try to keep people updated, once we validate the consequences etc.. We know others just blurb out news without looking at how this is applied.

It is important to note that VMware understands as „Whitelabel“ that the direct partner is allowed to resell a service to a partner. It does not mean that a service provider is allowed to host it in its own datacenter.

The License change to kill the perpetual license and jump that cost to move to the stupid subscription is just stupid. and will lose most of the customers. They were still getting the support per year anyway so why change it. No its not making it simpler that is just marketing BS.

Killing off products, selling them off, tomato, to-MAH-to. Either way, they’re getting rid of products like EUC and Carbon Black and taking away choices from customers while raising prices. Anyway you spin it, it’s not good at all.

Great video. But even licensing was mentioned from 16:29 it wasn't explained. Is Gateway Firewall licenses charged on physical core base like Distributed Firewall ? Does it mean if CSP is using Gateway firewall it needs to pay VCF + DFW + GWFW ? Publicly available list prices for Firewall add-ons: 1. Firewall add-on $120 (list price) per core 2. Firewall with ATP add-on $200 (list price) per core 3. Gateway Firewall add-on 4 * $120 = $480 (list price) per core

Die Tatsache, dass für den Kaufanteil nicht ab 05.02. ein Trade-In in place war, ist eine Unverschämtheit. Wir haben einen Kunden mit Ent+ Sockel (via VMware direkt) und vSAN Sockel via Dell OEM. vSAN läuft noch 3,5 Jahre, Ent+ läuft demnächst aus. Einzige Option: Alles auf VVF incl 300TB Capacity Upgrade OBWOHL vSAN eigentlich lizenziert ist. 5x Preissteigerung/Jahr. Wir ziehen den Kunden jetzt raus aus VMware. Alternative bereits angeboten. Ich kenne niemanden, der aktuell positiv über VMware spricht - außer diese Videos hier 😂

Ob man OEMs eintauschen kann ist jetzt nicht nur ein VMware Thema, das war auch bei anderen Herstellern wie Microsoft schonmal ein Thema. Das das Trade-In erst frühestens Mitte Feb kommt war auch im Dezember bereits den Partnern angekündigt. Warum wurden hier nicht eher die License Termination Termine sauber gezogen, auch das war schon immer ein Thema wenn man die alle unabhängig laufen hat. Ja das neue Modell passt nicht für jeden, aber ja es gibt auch viele Kunden die ganz zufrieden sind im neuen Modell... Die sind halt nicht so laut und gehen ihrem Tagesgeschäft nach.

Broadcom hat auch 1 Jahresverträge angekündigt und sie nicht gemacht, weil es zu deren Nachteil wäre.
