I bought some haggis in supermarket to make a proper english breakfast (I am not british) but it had no taste whatsoever, it was like eating wet cardboard. I don't know what went wrong but after a few tries (I didn't want to give up) with different brands the result was the same: no taste or flavor. I even tried various recommended greasy spoons with the same result. Is it me?

I think that may be a tough sell. I'd give it a shot, but I think that would do horribly as a lunch special lmao.

Hasselbacken is the restaurant in Stockholm, where the original dish is said to have been created. However this is contested. The original dish is made from potatoes that are sliced in the way shown, or preferably placed in a wooden ladle, but the slices are much thinner - around 1 mm or less. They are then baked in an oven with salt and butter that is scooped over the potatoes during baking and then sprinkled with breadcrumbs towards the end of the baking. Instead of breadcrumbs the potatoes can be sprinkled with grated cheese, but breadcrumbs are preferred. Delicious together with a better steak!

Hello Pete, yep I'm sold on the parfait! Funnily enough earlier on I made my 'ice cream' using caramel carnation, cream and Baileys salted caramel liquer. Though when I'm next at the shops I shall get the carnation milk to make your parfait, yummy! Wishing you and Emily and Carlos plus your family a very Happy Christmas.xx

From York, love Yorkshire puddings but never have them for Christmas dinner, too much other stuff to eat. They're designed to just fill you up so you have less meat. But if you do have them please make sure they have some stodge left in the bottom, many people today make them more like crisps than proper puddings.
