Why don’t you show the books to be banned? I think she is being a typical liberal by twisting the truth.

Great talk yesterday! Thanks for doing that and for helping raise awareness of how to help stop people from becoming and staying homeless! Very excited to go back through and listen again.

Abolish "public" (government) libraries! American "public" libraries were created at a time (the 1850s) when American communities ALREADY HAD local lending libraries which were financed and operated privately without government control. These were known by various names: "social libraries", "library societies", "lyceums" (which had reading rooms in addition to lecture halls), "athenaeums" (ditto), "literary and philosophical societies" (more in England, still a few around, better known colloquially as "lit & phils"), "mechanics' institutes", etc.. Some of these lending libraries were "subscription" (that is to say, membership-based), some others were founded by wealthy benefactors who created endowments to provide their perpetual upkeep, for the benefit of all in the community. This idea that if the government doesn't do it, it would never get done has been proven wrong in history.

Libraries that have only left wing books are biased and I am tired of the monopoly . I love books but not the American Library Association.

Greetings. Librarian here. For a change, I have questions. You don't need to answer them to me, but to yourself: When was the last time you went to a library? Have you ever been in one? Are you acquainted with the Dewey Decimal Classification system? Which number determines the "wing" of a book? Have you ever visited the ALA website? In which way exactly a library can have "only left wing books"? Would you say that a book that says, "When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God," and, "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me,'" and, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect," and, "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need," is a left-wing book? Should children never read a book that says such things? How a library that only had "right wing books" - apparently, no books that say anything positive or encouraging related to the lesser of your brethren, nor that call you out for fearing and despising them, nor that merely tell you their history - is not biased? Guess what. "Right wing" does not mean "the correct wing." "Right" and "left" come from the National Assembly in the French Revolution (google it), where the ones who wanted to keep everything as it was including the monarchy sat to the right of the assembly's president, and the ones who wanted liberty, equality, fraternity, sat to his left. If some day you dare to go to a library, don't fear to ask the help of a librarian. We are a profession of service; differently from the military, we don't kill, and differently from politicians who tell you to hate us, we strive to treat all the users equally. A library is a place of liberty and freedom, where different ideas are not feared.

If you don't believe Laura Ingalls Wilder books should be read by every child in America - YOU are part of the problem we are all going through right now - The only difference between the ALSC and the firemen of "451" is, they had torches and these people use lies and misguided morals to exact their judgement on what books should be read.

When I first watched Wow Wow Wubbzy on Summer of 2008 after my 3rd Grade year of Elementary School ended, and I watched the show so many times during that summer break, and when summer ended and I got into 4th Grade, when I stopped watching the show after just watching a bit of it during the beginning of that year, and I was getting more into The Penguins of Madagascar, but I felt kind of shocked when promos for Wow Wow Wubbzy were playing during the Nickelodeon commercials, and on the TV screens at Target too, all while I was thinking about Penguins of Madagascar.
