I feel like the reason this was cut was because of how the romance system works. With how any male or female tav with male or female genitalia can romance any male or female companion. Having her get pregnant means they would have to set specific parameters for this to occur, male tav with male genitalia, which is already far more work than any other companion gets regarding romance, so it’s clear why they scrapped it

If Minthara has a daughter, she's probably okay. If Minthara has a SON I'm declaring her an unfit mother and comandeering her son. (Also imo Minthara should just...be pregnant. Not determined if you're romancing her or anything. She should have gotten pregnant at some point before joining)

Fun fact......unlike Surface Elves that have a low birthrate and long gestation period to offset their lifespans, the Drow are more like Humans in that regard. Since the Drow were cast into the Underdark, a place where survival was exceedingly difficult, part of Lolth's gift was a faster reproductive system to offset their losses. So Drow reproduce like humans but have a lifespan equal to or in some cases superior to Surface elves, usually that is not a problem because Drow also have a high mortality rate in the Underdark due to the constant infighting and the creature horrors down there.

I love minthara but having a pregnancy arc is a bit creepy… plus out of everyone she definitely would have some kind of magical contraception. Her getting pregnant makes no sense to me

I guess you should've known about her pregnancy exploring her mind with the tadpole. Knowing it,you should rather knocking off her instead of killing her,making you save and recruit her at Moonrise

I wonder if they cut this because it would only make sense if the MC is Human or Elf and male? As things are now there's nothing romance-related that's limited to a specific race or sex, which is something I think they should stick to. They should have included this though and just thrown in some BS about she's using special drow fertility magic to be able to conceive with a dwarf/gnome/woman/whatever.

Feel like this is an area rpgs shouldn't go. Imagine your obsessed with these characters and learn the one your attached to is pregnant! Your gonna have a child! Then it's over and your reminded that's it's just a game. You didn't ever have a child they never existed. That post game depression will kill them ngl

They had Karlach dialog about Minthara? At this point you couldn't get both of them without crazy game breaking maneuvers. They really planned for everything

I think because it wouldn't make sense if you played as a woman and romanced Minthara and it also wouldn't really make sense with some of the playable races. A male Dragonborn x a female drow = ???

@@myon9431 Oh you’re right. I didn’t even think of that but it makes sense. Selfishly wished they’d left it in as it would’ve been an amazing optional storyline but I understand why it might’ve been cut now.
