John, thanks for bringing Reggie, Tim, and I together to talk about business architecture. It is always great to find that people from different areas, with different experiences have come to many of the same conclusions!

Thank you all this was very wholistic and insightful and thank you John. Now to find a mentor in EMEA time zone. The caveat with LinkedIn is that its saturated with mainly networks from North America of which the time zones and culture can be completely different. It can get overwhelming. I identified with Fae & Victoria in valuing mentorship and James in the spiritual search for purpose aside from career.

Respect the grey hair. I would be really interested in Job shadowing someone. I am an MSc Stats with years of product business ownership and its been difficult getting past recruiters to secure an entry/mid level BA job without direct BA experience. I also have experience with SDLC through a few courses in computer science, and jobs in Data/IT.

If anyone has any tips for @lifefaithworks, please share. I would suggest visiting the IIBA and perhaps joining one of the weekly practice meetings. Also, finding opportunity to move within your existing company or doing the role where you are, is often helpful.

this was such an interesting discussion. To add, depending on the company's business model, certain aspects may vary. For example, we emphasize productivity elements such as: - Tracking, understanding, and developing BA skillsets (system analysis, product ownership, industry knowledge, enterprise architecture, etc.) - Metrics for measuring BA productivity on projects - AI-enabled productivity through tools and training

I wonder how the use of GenAI by internal BA (on companies’ payroll) might impact and reshape BA consulting. If we agree that GenAI can enhance the analyst and make them more productive, to what extent could this reduce a company’s need to source external analysts? Or how might it impact companies’ expectations about the time needed to deliver analysis results?
@BusAInsights8 ай бұрын
Excellent question Samuel. Perhaps in that situation, external BA support may be introduced to bring a different perspective, experience or skillset from the outside that can aid the organisation as well as existing internal BA community and jointly (with the internal BA) deliver more.
