I have the hood protector from Ford but no windshield film. Have mixed feelings about film. I stay from behind dump trucks and 18 wheelers.

@@gilbertferguson1685 , I was unsure about the film at first prior to ownership, but I’m pretty glad I got it. I too, stay away from bigger trucks, but sometimes the unexpected happens. Thanks for watching.

@ I’m sure film won’t hurt. I have it on a Porsche 911 and PPF on the hood and front fenders. Helps with small stone chips but a big rock would crack the windshield.

I've heard the sticky tape doesn't stick well.
@BknoffbroncosАй бұрын
I heard that as well on the first generation of these. I had the second generation and they stuck extremely well. Mabett included adhesion promotor pads and a better grade of 2 way tape. I removed this eventually in order to install a different product and had a difficult time. It really stuck! For the bug shields I’ve installed, I bought my own bottle of 3M adhesion promotor to use instead of the adhesion pads included in the accessory packet, and none of those bug shields have had an issue.

Howdy, just curious, how do you disconnect to take the top off?
@BknoffbroncosАй бұрын
Great question Jagman, you will have to disconnect the harness from the taillight. I never thought about it until you asked. I typically remove the 2 rows and leave the clamshell on the truck. I will have to look into making a quick disconnect type connector in an accessible area.

Does it have padding for the hooks that go over the rock rails? Curious if any risk of stripping the rock rail coating either from the hooks or the screws on the bottom..

No padding. I haven't seen any that do. I’ve removed mine a few times and haven't noticed any chipping. They're in place pretty tight.

@@hoserhockey8572 Awesome thanks for the info! So no issues with the screws on the bottom stripping the rock rails?

I haven't noticed any issues with mine, but you could always buy some rubber caps that go over the end of the bolts to soften the dig of the bolt.

Can you tell me if this will work if I already own the Broaddict rear cargo window molle panels?
@BknoffbroncosАй бұрын
I don't know for sure. I've noticed in the past that some Broaddict products include different sets of brackets to allow for other product installs to be combined. I would contact Broaddict directly with the question

@@BknoffbroncosI contacted Broaddict and they verified it will install with their cargo window molle panels. Just ordered one. I’ll follow up if I have any issues. Thank you for the video! Great demo and install example!

@@ryonjones564, thanks Ryon. Please let me know how the install goes. I've thought about installing the window molle panels
@ryonjones564Ай бұрын
Well unfortunately, Broaddict was mistaken when they said this would work with my Broaddict rear cargo window molle panels. The plate that holds the bottom window molle panels prevents the side plates from being installed correctly. To make it work, it would have to be removed, but then the window molle panels wouldn’t be supported properly and they’d bang and rattle against this foldable shelf here. Too bad because I really liked this shelf.

Im wondering can the wood boards be reclaimed and used for out building’s etc and sprayed once built? Its a shame to let good qood be trashed someone could pick it all up and reuse it
@BknoffbroncosАй бұрын
Sorry for the late response, people are tossing all that wood due to the tremendous amount of bacteria in the salt water that the wood absorbed. With all the bacteria the mold sets in quickly due to the moisture and heat. Many people were without power for over a week

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m assuming that you’re referring to the step after removing the accessory panel. I turned my back because I was putting the welding screw, which is in the shape of a T. You are sliding that into the horizontal slot in the tailgate and then turning 90° so it catches after it catches you’re gonna put a nut on it and tight to keep it in place.
