Thx Lisa, I really look forward to learning PMB from you! I've had it for years and I haven't even completed my the basic fit garments ☹️
@lisahaasecustomsewing2106Күн бұрын
it is imperative you get your fit garments figured out first before you try and design any garments to actually make. The admin of Wild Ginger are a great resource in telling you the little tweaks you need to make in the main program in order to have a proper fit garment. I don't have, nor intend to create, any videos on how to do this.

Really happy to have come across your channel Lisa. I love style not fashion, beautiful ways patterns are cut and I really enjoyed all the stylish garments, suits and dresses you showed from Pinterest in one of your other videos. As for the computer pattern system it looks very interesting. I will definitely be looking into seeing if I can get it. I recently discovered your channel. It's great to find a resource using Wild Ginger's pattern editor. I've recently begun dabbling with pattern drafting and would like to become proficient using digital tools. I especially appreciate your demonstration of some of the features that aren't included in the built-in tutorials, such as changing to dotted lines and symbol placement. I do have one question though - what is the purpose of drawing the guideline and moving the dart point 1.5" inches to the right? Is it just to get the circle out of the way?
@lisahaasecustomsewing2106Ай бұрын
exactly. Otherwise when you try to snap (right click) a dart line to the dart point, the apex circle could end up the point of connection instead of the guide line end . 1 1/5" is an arbitrary number on my end. It could be 1", 2" however much you need to move it out of the way. The important thing is to move it straight across so you can easily find the original point when you move it back.

Will the whole jacket be lace?
@lindamcdonald3151 Жыл бұрын
yes the whole vest will be lace
@lisahaasecustomsewing2106 Жыл бұрын
@@lindamcdonald3151 You first said it was a jacket but now a vest? I am confused. If you make either a jacket or vest strictly out of lace, it will have zero structure and, I fear, a disappointment. Either one needs structure to present well. The most beautiful lace combinations I have seen is with lace over a solid contrasting fabric. Such as chocolate and cream. As an example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3TRk2ljpLKrm8k I call what I did in this video "underlining" however I suppose the proper word for it is "interlining" so as not to confuse anyone.
@lindamcdonald3151 Жыл бұрын
i am sorry but i thought i said jacket,it is a jacket ,i see in a video on youtube some one doing only lace for a jacket,me myself thought the same as you are saying ,so what fabric would be best for a underling? for the lace fabric i want to use i will be use for a jacket
@lisahaasecustomsewing2106 Жыл бұрын
@@lindamcdonald3151 Again, it depends on the drape of the lace as to what weight of "underlining" (what I did here was "interlining") you should use. Also, the style of the jacket should be taken into consideration. Is it a loose fitting jacket or fitted? If loose, you may not need underlining at all but a structure jacket such as a blazer will need more structure under the lace. You could just make the jacket out of the underlining first, building in the structure, then just do a "lace overlay". I made a denim blazer and put black lace over it and it was one of my favorite jackets. Alas, the doggos chewed on it and I gained weight so it no longer fits. I still have it quasi determined to pick it out and try to salvage it somehow. A bit more information is really needed in order to give specific tips for your project.

Hi I am a house wife and i have been thinking to buy Pattern Master childs play and make my own patterns and sell digital pdf files. But i am not if i can do that after purchase or not and can i save edited or final patterns as pdf. Please advise
@lisahaasecustomsewing21065 жыл бұрын
Great Question! I will answer your last question first. Yes, as long as you have a PDF printer program (Adobe Acrobat professional or an off brand) you can print patterns in a PDF format. Insofar as your wanting to derive money from selling printed patterns, there is a big obstacle to that with Child's Play or any of the other stand alone programs which is they will not print as multi-sized patterns. Cameo ($1200) is the only Wild Ginger program that grades patterns and I don't think that Child's Play is included, only women's patterns. I hope that answers your question. Sorry if it wasn't the answer you wanted.
@nahidjnu5 жыл бұрын
@@lisahaasecustomsewing2106 so you mean i cant sell graded patterns of different sizes in one pdf if i buy childsplay (individual software). For that i have yo buy cameo? Is that so? Or i can make different pdfs of different sizes and sell them seperatly?
@mrgorky7774 жыл бұрын
The only patterns you can sell are those created in Cameo. The other Wild Ginger pattern programs are for personal use and used for clients and friends. They are copyrighted inasmuch as WG does not allow you you to create a pattern in Boutique , print it out and sell it. You need Cameo for that.

I used PMB for many many years to make clothes for myself, but now I mostly just use the Pattern Editor feature for quilt design. PE is a wonderful program with many possibilities. Unfortunately, there is very little online video instruction on how to manipulate patterns. I bought the big book about pattern design from Wild Ginger, but that was at about the same time that I discovered the joy of quilting, so I never studied the book.
