In metals removal, how important is the level of your sludge blanket inside your clarifier. Do you need a thick blanket to grab the metals.

Everybody seems to be only vice President.... TRB did not recruit vice president? IIT did not recruit vice president? Universities did not recruit vice president? How vice president got into teaching occupation.. I dont think anyone occupying a teachers job ever think of an occupation as high as vice President.. I am surprised why would president require blarring .....black board ...or why do they need a .....teachers black board .......?? Simply because everyone cannot be vice president......we have become stake holders ... This is my personal mailing address .... why would i think a hefty pay of vice president ... Better suggestions available elsewhere !

Presentation series is very bad. There should be more in written on multimedia than just focusing on the person.

This is the most boring/ useless lecture l've ever heard. Didn't help me understand at all as the guy never talked about how the physical/ chemical process worked to remove the H2S.

Some good nuggets in this training segment. But, here's where confusion can ensue. At 21:40, the topic of water softeners is covered for this portion of the pretreatment considerations. The Powerpoint slide identifies the chemistry of hard water as calcium, manganese, and iron when the list should be calcium, magnesium, and iron. The instructor correctly identifies verbally to the class the chemistry is magnesium. I'm not in the market for commercial boiler applications, but a distributor of water treatment chemicals. Before making a global commitment to broadcast this error, the presenter should have had a chemical engineer sign off on the slides. But I get it. People make mistakes. (They mentioned in the 6-hour stream class that they have beer available in the fridge after class.) I'm sure I've misused chemistry names by replacing a similarly pronounced name of an element over the years. Here's hoping my comment will bring attention to the presenter about this slide. All in all, I gained a deeper understanding of the scale commercial boilers require filtration and pretreatment and the solutions available to backwash the sediment out of water in a way that conserves water by significantly reducing it in the backwash treatment. More coffee, less beer, unless it's (root beer or ginger ale) within 50 feet of the Powerpoint content creator. 😉

@Vanboozin Sorry for the delayed response here. The answer depends on the series of LMI pump that you have. The Series 9 will have a Start/Stop button. The Series 7 and 1 will require that you turn the speed knob to the off position. Unplugging the pump is an option as well. Just make sure that you do not make any adjustments to the stroke knob until you have reassembled the pump.

after installing the diaphram and setting the correct pump stroke length for your model, screw the diapham in until the center begins to buckle. (this is all very clear ) then u say "shut the pump off" ( how by turning the knob until it shuts off or by unplugging from wall ) there is a huge difference here.it says the same thing in the manual and would like to have this cleared up. Thanks
