Im not in the military, just a mom of 3 watching with gratitude for the service and dedication this Marine gave on behalf of our country. Thank you sir, my condolences to his family. My dad was in the Air Force, he was never more proud of any of his outside life accomplishments than he was to serve his country. He was given a military funeral as well. It's sad to witness these service, but also a beautiful tribute to our fallen servicemen. They take care of each other, even in the darkness of death. May this Marine be honored, remembered and appreciated for his sacrifices

These people who "forget" to turn off their phones during a service are the same idiots who don't turn them off or take a call in the middle of a doctor's exam. I witnessed a guy take a call during a prostate exam!

I better not see a kid back there wearing shorts at a funeral. Hands in his pockets, too. The phone?….

My uncle recently passed away and I didn't get a chance to go to his funeral. He was also a Marine. They really go all out don't they? Wow.

The only thing I dislike about funeral detail is the material the flad is made of, makes folding very difficult

USN Honor Guard here. Did this multiple times as affiliated duty. That speech even though rote learned is freaking HARD. I gave a flag to a 10yr old child. Her grandparents on either side of her. It was right and honorable...but not. Its easily 20yrs later and I remember. Honor, Duty, Respect. Semper Fi. Semper Fortis. Semper Paratus - That Others May Live. Edit: Spelling

This is what the Marine said as he presented the flag: On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States Marine Corps, and a grateful nation, please accept this flag as symbol of your fathers honorable and faithful service to the Country and the Corps. Sorry for your loss.

My grandfather was a soldier in the army. He passed away from bone cancer in May of 2020. I still remember his funeral service like it was yesterday; The trumpet playing in the background, the folding and passing of the flag to my dad, who was my grandfathers son. He was the greatest person that I have ever met. I’m still not over the loss yet in 2024. I’m a pretty tough person but the only thing that is guaranteeed to make me cry is hearing the trumpet being played along with the passing of the flag. We still have the flag secured in a clear case in our entrance hallway to our house to this day.

PEOPLE! Regardless of the funeral, leave your phone in the car. To be on your phone or to check messages during a funeral makes you a shit bag.

Can someone transcribe what he said at the end? It's hard to hear and I can only make out part of it.

My dad is an ex marine. He lost alot of friends in service and the rest of my family are also military. This is worst than when they're away. These videos show the harsh reality but also how lucky we are to see them come home to us. For families that don't have them comeback, it's heartwrenching to anyone who has family that serves.
