I'm no expert, but that Kabota mulcher was tearing it up with more efficiency than the bobcat

@@themannstead2494What made you switch from a Kubota to a Bobcat, if you don’t mind me asking ?

Thanks for the review. I have an SSV 65 ordered and want the SC4060 for it
@arborico Жыл бұрын
First, I understand upgrading to bigger, more powerful equipment. Two questions though: 1) did you have problems beyond size in power with the SVL 75-2? 2) did you consider the bigger SVL 97? Just trying to glean as much information because I’m considering the 75-3 and drum mulcher combination.
@themannstead2494 Жыл бұрын
1. The 75-2 is an awesome machine my issue were, not enough lift capacity and needed more horse power. 2. the 97 didn't work for me because I wanted the remote control capability which only the bobcat offered. Looking I could have stayed with Kubota I don't use the remote but do like my Bobcat a lot. 3. If you plan to do production mulching 75 hp is not enough.
@arborico Жыл бұрын
@@themannstead2494 just want to clarify what you mean by production mulching? Just any contracted clearing jobs? I’m considering doing some woodland restoration projects in the upper mid-west. Not full time, but contract work that fits in with other things I do. That would be predominantly honeysuckle and buckthorn removal (invasive woody shrubs small trees in our region) I totally understand that bigger is better, but I’m wondering if the 75-3 in combination with the loftness “L” is worthy of it?

I run a fecon and can tell you that it doesn’t look like they’re running it on high flow. Something doesn’t seem right. I can chew up trees like that in a few seconds with a John Deere 333g.. That Fecon head is a serious machine but you need to have high flow.
@themannstead2494 Жыл бұрын
That's a 75 hp machine running the fecon head here so it's definitely not going to compare to your 333g
@joshcoleman4249 Жыл бұрын
@@themannstead2494 I agree with you there. I have seen some guys running a Fecon on a 325g which is a 75hp machine and was pretty impressed with how well they ran. Not sure if there may be a problem with the one in this video. I was impressed with the Kubota and Loftness head. Actually came across this video because I have an opportunity to buy that exact same setup for a good deal and was curious about how it would run.
@benniebarrow348 Жыл бұрын
It’s not the HP it’s the flow ……I run the Fecon bullhog on my Kubota SVL 90-2 and with high flow it will sit down on a tree like that in seconds . Agreed , something is not right with the way that fecon is running.

Do you like the Battle ax over the fecon? Also what series do you have for the battle ax
@themannstead2494 Жыл бұрын
The head in this video is the L series. It's a standard flow head but works great on a 75hp machine in high flow. I have never run a fecon head so I can compare but I felt in here it outperformed the other machine. The big difference is the l series battle axe was specifically designed for this size machine and the fecon was not necessarily designed that way. Both have their strengths.
@themannstead2494 Жыл бұрын
I have the s series on my new Bobcat. Just been so busy haven't made any videos. Just made on recently with The Stoney Ridge Farmer though if you want to check that one out

Sick trailer David! I had to rent a similar trailer to haul my forklift a year or two ago and as fate would have it I didnt get the hitch pin in correctly and the trailer dropped while going down the road. The counterweight wheels burst straight through the deck lol and destroyed the jack and jack mounting area. Rental place was NOT happy. Your property looks killer.

Thats the argument of the ages i think. issues is neither does the job of the other well its totally based on you needs. for a homestead a small tractor and a mini x would be the ticket i think now after some time with just the skidsteer

But my brush hog on my tractor could have dead cleared that, probably a little fast . But I love the 75-2, I’m wailing on my brand new 75-3. Going to run a Fecon mulching head on it. And keep the trailer for brush hogging and grapple work.
