Ruth has 714 home runs in his career, a lifetime average of .342, and the highest single most important metric used to determine where players rank (WAR) of 182.6. Yes, objectively it’s wrong. Not to mention he was an excellent pitcher. You can have the opinion that he was overrated, but like I just did, come up with some proof of that. And no, that “he was out of shape and played a long time ago” just doesn’t float anymore.

I used to live with Stan hack in granddetour il Stan was a great man how is there at Wrigley Field when he got inducted into the Walk of Fame I had the privilege of carrying his plaque around the stadium that day people were coming up to me and asking me for my autograph it was kind of funny lots of great memories with Stan Ronald Reagan was one of his best friends he used to come and visit I played bumper pool with Ronald Reagan while the Secret Service got Stan downstairs to visit do the Cubs fan my whole life and so have my family

This was an interexting list. I was surpised you included so many members from the St. Louis Browns. Several were from the 1922 team including George Sisler that came up a game short versus the Yankees and their only pennant was in the war depleted year 1944 well remembered because they played the Cardinals in the world series. There is a statute of George Sisler among Cards greats outside Busch stadium. There is a St. Louis Browns fan club in St. Louis headed by an Ed Wheatly. In 1954 the new Orioles owner pretty much unloaded a poor team and started from scratch. .

The St. Louis Browns and Baltimore Orioles are the same franchise (I’m gathering you already know this, though 😂), and many of those Browns greats are at the top of the franchise’s list in numbers. Sisler was one of the best hitters ever. A lot don’t give enough credit to the players from this era and the late 1800s.

@@AJTV Yes, in 1954 the new Orioles after the move cleaned house and pretty much started a new team taking over for a poor team in 1954. Good to hear the Orioles include their stats. That fan cliub I mentioned really had some good documentaries of the team on our local PBS station in recent years.

Freddie freeman had been there 2 years and is already one of the greatest dodger players that tells you how good the rest are🤦♂️🤷♂️ Mookie betts also went from being an awesome Red Sox player to continue the legacy as a dodger so moral the story they learn from their mistakes it only took them 40 years

@@Baseballryu or that tells you just how good Freeman actually is. The franchise has had some great first basemen, but while Freeman’s WAR isn’t very high, his OPS is already among the top in the franchise’s history.
