Can Pli-Dek be applied over a rolled on elastomeric that was applied to new plywood decking? We rolled that on BEFORE we decided to go with Pli-Dek. Will there be some sort of chemical reaction?

Does this RoofSlope weight as much as quikrete? I have several areas I need to do this technique with. Some small areas, some larger. Just don't want to add anymore weight than I have to. Great presentation and it looks like a great product. I looked at the Green Slope brand and I like that it's very light weight, but it looks really clumpy and you have to be careful or it will blow away in the wind when mixing it up. I"m leaning towards the RoofSlope brand because of it's smoothing and hardness. Thanks for the presentation, impressive!

You ever get an answer to your question? I'm trying to understand the weight as well, as I would like to keep weight down in my application.

Isn't this just self leveling cement. Basically the same thing you use to level a floor before you tile a floor?

Thanks for the Video. Where can i purchase all necessary supplies?
Nice video, captioned as "ICC system over Plywood". Instead we see the questionable use of OSB as the substrate. Most manufacturers prohibit the use of OSB under their waterproof deck systems. Not sure why Pli-Dek would promote this as an acceptable substrate. I wouldn't go over it under any circumstances.

Good afternoon Em. Your concern is definitely understandable. Pli-Dek has been tested over OSB and has passed. Please see below for the verbiage that I pulled from our Technical Bulletin 112 which I can send over to you. Shoot us an email to [email protected] and we'll send it right over. Also, you can contact Jan Bagnall the VP/National Tech Rep at 714-493-9292 to get an in depth explanation. Let us know if there is anything that we can do for you! Thank you! SYSTEM TYPE: Pli-Dek System INTENDED USE: Pli-Dek recognizes that OSB is used as exposure 1 sheathing in exterior decking applications. Pli-Dek has a “Limited Material Warranty” application of Pli-Dek lath system over a minimum substrate thickness of 19/32” OSB. Ensure OSB has not been exposed to inclement weather for extended time periods resulting in delamination prior to installation of the OSB. ASTM TESTING: 1) Pli-Dek Walking Deck and Roof Covering System using a minimum substrate thickness of 19/32” O.S.B. has been subjected to an independent testing laboratory and has passed both of the following ASTM Tests. a) ASTM E119 - One-Hour Fire Rating Test. b) ASTM E108 - Class “A” Fire Rating Test. c) ASTM C297- Bond Strength Test

At least be consistent then if you're going reference ICC ESR 2097 which clearly lists the materials tested for both Con-Dek and Pli-Dek on Table 1 of the report. To meet Class A and one-hour fire resistant requirements, APA rated plywood must be used. If as you say OSB has been tested, was it to meet Class A and one hour standards? I suspect that if as a manufacturer, you had a choice as to what substrate was used for any Pli-Dek application, it would be plywood, hands down.
@plidek7 жыл бұрын
Pli-Dek was tested over OSB when it was becoming more popular on buildings. You are right, that we do prefer the use of plywood as the substrate and plywood is listed on our ICC Report, but we didn't want to rule ourselves out on any OSB buildings. That is why we tested the system again over the OSB Substrate to meet the fire rating and bond strength.
