They even with their moderate weight, 100-200 lbs on each hoof have too feel so much overall relief?!!

Why don't the owners take these old animals to a sanctuary instead of letting them go through this neglect.

First time I’ve seen a farrier make a frog bleed, he’s not very careful and he rushes too much

Nice work only thing I would like to add friend is instead of trying so hard fighting to hold the horse foot maybe try giving him and yourself a short break at times? I think that horse was struggling badly to stand on 3 legs. 😊

Amazing how he sticks with the moving animal without losing his patience, or the foot.

You forgot to trim the heels properly. It makes no sense to trim only the toe short but leave the heels too long and high...

It always scares me when they go after the frog so aggressively. He made that horse bleed right off the bat. Notice he didn't do it with the second hoof

I live in Belgium, the origin of the draft horse. They are getting rare as, obviously, they don't need to do anymore heavy pulling. I like draft horses a lot. Usually they have a kind character. Such impressive, powerful animals.

He was to rough with baby beings the horse wasent touched for a long time. 😢

You trimmed the toe but forgot to trim the heels and wall properly...the heels push under because they´re much to long/high. Typical farrier problem

I think you are too rough with a horse that is not use to a farrier. Too rough working and beating the hoof. Enough to scare a horse not use to a farrier. Be more gentle!! You would not like someone that rough with your feet. I feel sorry for the horse. I have watched many farriers over the years and I have never seen someone so rough.

Well you have a go at this sort of work, it appears you do not operate in a lived reality and that you have other ideological and sentimental connections in your life

Try to put the horses foot between your legs , that's what I seen on other clips , the horse might like that better , my opinion

The horse is massively over weight. Looks like laminitis on the fronts? So satisfying to see those bars popped out.
@melanisticmandalorian Жыл бұрын
that horse, looks like a draught horse, they are that big.
@antoniajuel9582 Жыл бұрын
@@melanisticmandalorian Nah, Sidilicious is right. I've owned draughts myself and know what a healthy weight looks like for different breeds, and also what fat vs muscle looks like. This horse is overweight, but like many draughts, he carries it well. Instead of all gathering around the belly, the fat is evenly distributed from neck to hind quarters. However, the description says he's been abandoned, so my guess is he's been left in a big field in early summer while the owners went poof. Draughts, just like ponies, are more sensitive to laminitis than lighter breeds, and also more prone to gaining weight.

It is awesome to watch, restore the functionality of the hooves, and then once the horse has had time to decompress, you can then come back to work on the appearance.

Why do you shorten the toe but leave the heels up and push under? They should be shortened just like the toe, so that the hoof remains in balance...
