Your room is beautiful! Are you still in West for Fall 2022? You've given me great ideas for supplies to buy. The only additional information I would like is the measurements for the inside of the closet width to buy a shoe storage rack. Also, the measurements of the inside of the dresser drawers would be helpful (length width and height). In your videos, some show dressers with three drawers and the other shows two drawers and a shelf. Do you know which ones are in the rooms?
@collegiatefinesse2 жыл бұрын
Hi! In the West Hall residence hall the drawers are 2 with an open space at the top. There is also a side table with one drawer. If you email housing they actually have a list of all closet measurements and drawers. Also I am no longer at West Hall but I will be around campus. I am a grad student now 😊

Note about the ceiling heights: the lobby is actually on the 2nd floor. Because Rawlins is on a hill, the 2nd floor is level with the street where the main entrance is, but it slopes downward around the back of the building. The stairs that go down to the laundry room from the lobby is where the actual 1st floor rooms are and the vaulted ceilings are on the 2nd floor, which is level with the lobby.

Why do you prefer being a Housing Ambassador instead of a Residency Assistant?
@collegiatefinesse2 жыл бұрын
I like the interactions with students and their parents, I love giving tours of residence halls and talking about what UNT has to offer, I enjoy administrative work, and I like my job to start at 8 and be done at 6:30. As an RA you are always on the job and that didnt appeal to me
@sofiavegamusic2 жыл бұрын
@@collegiatefinesse That makes sense. When you said that your job was from 8am to 6:30, was that every day or just the weekends? I also have another question, do the FA and HA receive the $300/month too?

So the Welcome Center is open during those times. I never worked more than 12-15 hours a week unless I took on extra work or it was a weekend event. You're on call to do late tours at least 4 times a semester and you work saturdays and least 4 times a semester. And HA and FA get the same benefits as RA. Housing, meal plan, $300/ month

Welcome to UNT! So based on what you said I have a few options. West Hall is great and I stayed there, only issue is that it is far away from main campus, but the walk isnt bad it just feels long when you dont know your way around. Rawlins is good if you both want to be in the Honors College. Joe greene is the newest hall and right next to a dining hall and pretty close to everything. All of those halls arent too big, but they have good communities. Just make sure you and your preferred roommate set up your housing ASAP. Maaaaany times I've had to console incoming freshmen because they didnt get their housing taken care of early and they were put on waitlists and couldnt get the roommate they wanted. Sorry for the long post but I hope that helps ❤
