Damn the guard squads do nothing, can you get flamers or other special weapons for them? The lasgun effect and noise is so off, but the more I see of this game the more I have the urge to get it.

Yes, you can definitely play in skirmish mode! It adds a nice twist to the gameplay beyond just the campaign and online battles.

Yea, the lasgun feels too cheap (despite lore reasons) but we already have other games and visual media that have the sfx for the lasguns feel like they actually hit somewhat. i.e. Darktide, Pariah Nexus series
