laptop doesnt support 4th gen. You'll be wasting money. i reccomend any 3rd gen 3.5gbps ssd. Also make sure your screwdriver is magnetic. Some screws are hard to remove without magnets in this laptop.

pfff dont use mechanical drives.....it slows your laptop down! instead of buying a 2tb hdd buy a 2.5 inch 1tb for the same price..but more performance....also wtf ram is cheap...2tb hdd's are expensive you can buy the ram and a 2.5 ssd for that money...also you bought the wrong ssd! you bought a slow m.2 ssd instead of a nvme ssd...m.2 is just 500 mb's speed...nvme is 5 times that speed...

Hello mate, i want to add an SSD to my laptop which is MSI GF63 Thin 9RC. In specification it's mentioned that the laptop supports NVME M.2 PCI-E GEN-3. The SSD which I chose is 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus. Will this SSD be compatible with the mentioned laptop? Will be helpful if you help me out.

I have the Katana, so if it's even Slightly similar the stock version will do what you need until you can upgrade... Horizon, spider-man, and RE2 in max has noticeable problems, but are very much playable, I have no issues in the setting right blow max, but ray tracing lags hard, you'll need that max 64gb of ram for it to run smoothly, or just more than the 16 it has, 32 would probably be ok, but it is expensive so might as well max that mug out

So, since there is only one SSD upgrade spot, if I take it out and replace it with let’s say, for example, a 1TB SSD, what will happen to all the old storage from the old SSD? Will I lose all my storage and games and such, or will I get 1TB plus all the stuff I had on my pc before?

If you remove the old drive to replace it with a new one then obviously everything else will disappear since all the old data is IN the old drive. What you can do is get an external storage drive such as a flashdrive or an HDD and back up your files.
