From minute 2:42, He's playing only half of that sped up drum beat. There's a 2nd drum sound/beat that consists of a sped up beat, a "pick it up pick it up", a rolling sound, if you will. He eventually blends in with that beat approximately a minute later. Watch his drum sticks, he doesn't play the 2nd beat. Sorry. Thumbs down. Or watch Bonzo's son, Jason, live playing FITR and you'll see that this guy cant/doesn't play that full drum piece.
@MumbyHitsDrums2 ай бұрын
@andrewrobles5838 what are you talking about? I am playing the second beat the entire time. Bonham played second drum on a timbale. I didn't have a timbale at the time so I play it on a smaller snare with the wires turned off. You can see me playing it right after the quick scene with the shaker. I'm playing at the whole time through. If you pay attention you will see that the camera view switches back and forth between me playing just the single snare and then me playing the smaller drum.

I know everyone hears this song as a shuffle beat, but it really isn't. And it's not straight triplets on the hihat either. If you listen closely and many times, you can hear a totally different rhythm being played on the hihats. Listen to it over and over and listen to the isolated drum part version, you'll see what I mean.
@MumbyHitsDrums4 ай бұрын
I have listened to it closely, since it was new, lol. I'll have to disagree with you that it's not a shuffle. It absolutely is. Listen to what Jeff Porcaro has to say about it being a shuffle. I think I'd take his word for it, lol. Shuffles come in many different styles, but they all kinda do the same thing. Many, many country songs are shuffle. Many Stevie Ray Vaughan songs are shuffle. And I'm not playing straight triplets on the hihats. Not sure why you mentioned that? I have listened to the isolated drums and the pattern on the hihat does not deviate much at all. Maybe you are confusing the snare ghost notes? If you believe there are different patterns, give me the time stamps of where they are.
@davidlanier70064 ай бұрын
@@MumbyHitsDrums During the many times I've listened to it I thought let's try complete triplets across the whole measure, but that doesn't really sound or feel right. Let me listen to it again and I'll get back to you about exactly what I think it is. During part of the song he used quarter note triplets on the bell of the ride, did you notice that? That was During the chorus or bridge, I forget what you call that part of the song, I'm only a drummer. LOL.

@@MumbyHitsDrums I found an isolated drum track that you can hear better and it might be a shuffle on that. What I had been listening to definitely didn't sound like a shuffle beat.

Actually, I am playing with Bonham's tracks still in there. So, you hear both of us. I did this before there was instrument removal and there was no "drumless track" at the time. You didn't remove the drum track from the original song, or adjust the volume properly. We can hear John Bonham's drums over yours. A lot of people are too stupid to figure that out and are giving you credit for playing the Bonham part.
@MumbyHitsDrums9 ай бұрын
Yes, I made this video before there was a drum less version and there was no app to remove them. But yes, you are hearing my drums being played and recorded over Bonham's. My drum mix is actually slightly louder than Bonham's, it is my drums you are mostly hearing. There are one or two times throughout the song that I didn't play the fills exact, pay attention, and you can clearly hear that its my drums dominantly in the mix. And, you can't see that I'm playing the parts? Lol. Kind of obvious isn't it? I mean, you can see and hear that I'm playing it. I have other videos on my channel that are recorded on drumless tracks, and some Zepp grooves I play by myself. Having said all that, do you think it was necessary to be that big of a dick about it? Chill dude.
