in theory is possible to drill holes up to 25mm in diameter?
@baburamabadhran1437 Жыл бұрын
very nice. for hole sizes less than 0.6 or 0.2mm , is it still possible. just enquiring to know the feasibility.

Hello sir Thank you for your video it's helpful But u say that at finish path electrode move orbital is that mean that electrode rotate? In video it's not rotate

A regular machinist could take a lifetime to achieve the accuracy and finished surface using conventional tools and techniques....Marvelous to see this technology applied to plastic injection for Plastic models....Sweet !! Thanks for sharing this...

Hi Machines range in cost from $20k for a basic manual model, approx $40k for one like the video, I believe the best to be Ocean River machines, we have just bought one of these to add to our capacity and its excellent

What is the smallest hole we can get by this technique?
@edmprecision2 жыл бұрын
Hi Khaled Realistically about 0.25mm depending on thickness - if say 5mm thick between 0.28 and 0.30 - otherwise you need Micro EDM to det smaller

Hi Retesh - It does depend on the thickness of cut and a lesser extent on the material Through 10mm thick steel 4-5mm/ min, 100mm thick 1-1.5mm / min, 200mm thick 0.2-0.4mm/min hope this gives you some idea

Where can I get this micro electrodes? I actually need Solid brass micro electrodes of diameter 0.4 mm and length of 3.5 cm.
@edmprecision3 жыл бұрын
I am not sure where you might get such electrodes - with EDM hole drilling there must be one or more holes through the length of the electrode to enable flushing with high pressure deionised water or dielectric oil. Have you tried looking for 0.4mm diameter brass wire www.amazon.co.uk/Unplated-Brass-wire-0-4mm-26ga/dp/B00JYIH7RI ?

Hilariously dumb question why does it need to rotate?
@edmprecision3 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question. It helps ensure even wear on the electrode so the hole does not veer off in any direction

How to make notch with this machine? Can we program for making surface erosion by this machine?

You need a spark erosion machine for a notch - not quite the same machine but similar science....

Would using spark plug electrodes resist erosion of the tool?
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you are getting at - are you thinking of making the electrodes out of spark plug material?
@TheRainHarvester4 жыл бұрын
@@edmprecision Yes. If I could find a source for that material, They are made to spark for long periods of time. I wonder, would it last longer than other materials?
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRainHarvester You would need to source Iridium or platinum and would need to be able to buy it in often fairly sizable pieces and machine it easily into the shape required. This is unfortunately not economic and is why Graphite, Copper and Copper Tungsten are used instead. To machine a new electrode in these materials to replace a worn one is cheaper than considering spark plug material
@TheRainHarvester4 жыл бұрын
@@edmprecision It would be interesting to try it: take an old spark plug, mount it in the machine, use it to surface down a sheet of material down, and observe the wear.
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRainHarvester If you send me a piece of platinum or iridium I would be happy to try it out - Kind Regards paul - [email protected]

Im assuming the fluid you are using is deionized water right?
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
We use generally deionized water. Readily available and easy to generate on site either by reverse osmosis (EASY RO) or by deionizing resins. (we use both). If you want to know more contact me [email protected].

How about the ware off of the tiny electrode?
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
Alex You do get wear on the electrode but unless the material has a very high melting point (tungsten, moly etc) the wear is not too bad.

Please explain finishing setting. I am unable to find finish surface. I reduced current and TOn but did not find desired finish.
@edmprecision4 жыл бұрын
Hi Pawan If you do not have a user manual or cannot get one I can only suggest you should get yourself a book on spark eroding - there are several on the market. Electrical Discharge Machining Book in google Otherwise download a user manual for another machine as the principles are always the same. Best of Luck Paul

Me to I need to know how to get finish setting and when I should make rough and finishing?
@Gsavell4 жыл бұрын
Maybe I missed it, but when drilling a hole how do you stop discharge leaving the sides of the electrode eroding the wrong material.
