I put my two weeks in just a week ago after being in a corporate job for nine years and I feel so exhilarated! It was definitely five years overdue and a great opportunity came up. I totally resonate with your video. These jobs are definitely not worth your peace of mind, physical health, and losing sight of who you are. Thank you for sharing your story.💕

I’m miserable too. I couldn’t peacefully enjoy my time before I went back to 9-5. I just knew it was coming so I panicked often and felt bad for walking into it. But I don’t believe I’m skilled enough to do anything different. I knew if I went back, I’d get sick just like always. And maybe it’s just because I was worried that it happened, but it happened even before I was thinking about why work was so unnerving. So thanks for this video that makes me feel like someone understands. I’m constantly working toward my escape indeed. But today I felt moved to just let go and let God and be still in my work illness. That had worked to give me more than what I need, so I’m going to try it again.

Love the video. This is where I am at right now I just started a corporate job and I so done. I though I could put in at least 1 year and the office politics is just so insane. But great points. BTW What camera do you film on? thanks <3

I was watching this on my TV and had to pull out my phone to comment. First off thanks for this video because I needed to hear this badly! I was in the coaching space for so long, and we are brain wash to only talk about things we overcame and to be ten steps ahead of our target audience. That just never resonated with me, because I don’t like acting like everything is perfect and I just want to speak my mind and talk about what I’m currently experiencing and what I am doing to solve it. I notice I cling more onto these type of ppl who do this as well. (Your one of them btw lol)

People have tried what you've described a hundred times. Go read the stories of broken dreams where people turned hobbies into jobs and those jobs ruin the passion they once had. Work is work. It always sucks. You need a reason to work that is bigger than yourself. Its the only way to enjoy your work long-term

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about setting this up! I’m a musician looking to form a deeper connection with my audience as well as learn more about my overall purpose and how I can provide real value for people. This was one of the most straightforward/helpful videos I’ve watched on initial podcast setup. Thanks for the inspiration, been digging the Get Paid to Live episodes too, cheers!

My journey is weirdly comparable yet different. I started my own "passion startup" almost 3 years ago right after covid. Boy what an illusion startup culture is! The whole "work in something you love and you're never work a day" unfortunately tends to be unrealistic. Similar to corporate, you wear multiple hats, is expected to grind 24/7, and develop an "optimistic" personal brand as a founder all the time. I kept hearing stories of guys sleeping in the office 3 days straight to finish off a project, a founder who never took a vacation in over 8 years, of course the classic working in on weekends till the AM. I thought to myself: "that does not sound impressive, that sounds incredibly sad." I just got burnt out and to top it off the business wasn't picking up. I've decided to take a step back and review this whole business thing. The ultimate dream is to be financially secure on my own, but I do not want to accomplish that by compromising my health.

LOVE your energy in this video, Ify!! 🙌Just downloaded the PDFs, and excited to dive in ✨Small progress makes such a difference in the long run, it accumulates without you noticing and then you start getting more motivated because you're already doing what you desired in the past but were too overwhelmed to start due to trying to handle too many things at the same time. P.S. Props to the mic quality as well, so cool!! 🔥

I just left a new corporate job after 3 weeks. Why? In those weeks I was observing the culture. So many red flags. No assigned training or trainer. Everyone knows each other’s business in the office. No autonomy and micromanagement. Senior people double checking the junior people. Mistakes being called out in front of everyone. Too many check ins and meetings Too many social obligations after work. Unfortunately, this stuff is difficult to tell in an interview. You ask questions about culture and you get BS. Luckily, I have savings so I was able to leave. I think I am more suited for a remote position where there is less social interaction. To be honest though I think that society and manners are crumbling. I try to be a kind person in a dark world. But make no mistake you have be assertive and set boundaries today. It’s tough out here. GOD help us all.
