What’s happened to Australia, have we become a nation of philistines, uncaring of our heritage past, if this were a vessel in the USA it would be funded by the government and patriotic public. I despair at the lack of reverence that Australians have for the past. The South Steyne in particular, my mind boggles at the fate that has bestowed her, unbelievable. Mabe a public TV campaign to bring it to the attention of the masses may be a way to raise funds and bring about public awareness

So why wasn't the Barragoola on that list? it's such a shame she just sank -_-

No Utareangara the Baragoola was never with the Sydney Heritage Fleet. She was privately owned and had her own volunteer group. Sadly they were unable to keep her and she was sold to another person not long before she sank.
