Hello, thanks for watching and leaving a question. :) Smith Waite / Rider Waite is actually one and the same, this tarot system is called Rider Waite Smith (RWS). 🙂 Here’s a quick guide to the three main tarot types: Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) - The most popular deck, great for beginners. - All 78 cards have detailed pictures, making them easier to understand. - Focuses on clear, symbolic meanings. Thoth Tarot - Designed by Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris. - Uses abstract, colorful art with lots of symbols like astrology and alchemy. - Best for people who like deep, complex readings. Marseille Tarot - A traditional, older deck style. - The Minor Arcana cards have simple designs (like playing cards) instead of full scenes. - Requires more practice to interpret. I love the art style, I’m just a bit concerned that the values are a bit dated “military person, rich gentleman…” are you still using it? Do you find it relevant today? Tbh, I have already rehomed this deck - not because I think it’s outdated, but because I seem to have lost my connection to it. Would I recommend it in 2024 - I guess that depends on one’s aesthetics. This deck has its own personality, and it feels like stepping into a different era whenever I used it before. As for the cards of a Kipper deck, although some feel outdated, I think it can still be interpreted in a way that’s relevant to modern times. 💕🙏🏻 Wish you all the best in your journey. Can someone explain the extra This Might Hurt/This Might Heal card? What does it parallel with in the regular RW Deck and what does it signify?

Hmm let me attempt to answer this based on my understanding - the extra This Might Hurt and This Might Heal cards are optional additions that give extra insight. This Might Hurt card points to challenges, discomfort, or moments of growth that might feel difficult. RWS parallels: tower, 5 of pentacles, 10 of swords, 3 of swords, etc. On the flipside, the this Might Heal card signals recovery, hope, and the opportunity to move forward with peace. RWS parallels: the star, 4 of wands, temperance, 6 of cups, etc. I think these cards offer a deeper layer to the reading, helping you understand whether the energy leans more toward struggle or healing. Oh my.. the deck should come with a guidebook. :( Do check out Rockpool - perhaps they made an error in the packaging. Haven’t encountered a deck purchase with a missing guidebook though.. but I recommend you message the publisher. 🙏🏻

Can you help me understand why only 1 card is different between this mini deck and the regular size? It’s the 4 of pentacles, totally different artwork. So weird. Nothing comes up when I search this difference.

Oh, I don’t have the regular-sized deck so I wouldn’t have a reference for the comparison. But if I were to guess, it might be because they decided to enhance that specific card. Collette Baron-Reid did the same for her Enchanted Map Oracle… the new version has several cards that are revamped - to enhance and add more symbolisms, correct cards to make them more ibclusive, etc.

@@cynthiac7990 hi, Cynthia! To be really honest, I don’t reach for this one as often. The images are stunning, but I guess it’s just not working with me very well. Perhaps I need to bond with it more. But I highly recommend Mystical Healing Oracle. I find that the keywords for that are less generic and can easily be interpreted. The imagery is also stunning. I like the Heal Yourself Oracle too, but between the two, I prefer the Mystical oracle :) Hope this helps!

Great review. Some of the keywords have me like “What?” “Sisterhood” for Taurus and “rescue” for Gemini especially. I would definitely have to read the guide book to figure out her rational on some of these. The art isn’t for me but I dislike most photoshop decks so that’s a given. That being said, the illustrator didn’t try too hard for this deck. Maybe she waited until the last minute because the art is something anyone with a week of photoshop training could do. I’ve seen some of her artwork and it’s pretty cool so the fact that she put this out as an example of what she can do blows my mind. This is really low effort. Some of these cards took 10 minutes to create. Ah well, that’s on Rockpool.

@@serenityjewel I couldn’t agree with you more. Her previous decks are wonderfully done - it shows that a lot of thought were poured on to the artwork themselves. I’m not so much of a fan of decks with people in costumes with a few vectors thrown here and there. A bit more style and creativity would’ve added the much needed oompf to this deck. I just came off of Ebay and there are a lot of her decks for sale, this one in particular. Hay House has redone some of the decks and taken her name off of them since they own the rights to the decks. They are NOT copied nor plagiarized, they are the original decks, which they own the rights to, repackaged to get around her walking off and leaving them in the lurch. I don't care what Doreen tries to preach now, I am also a Christian, my gifts come from God, not the devil. She says she is a "born again" Christian, but she has very little forgiveness in her heart for those that believe differently than she does, that's not Christian, THAT is a false faith. So enjoy the cards, and leave what she has said at the door :)
