I dressed Carole on Lettice and Lovage in the West End, and I adored her. We stayed in touch, speaking weekly, and heavily involved in each other’s lives She even called my daughter as “ Lady Kluck” I love her dearly and miss her dreadfully.

She is the only character I feel for in this story, which mostly reminds me of what some of my friends' parents have put their kids through. I mean, it's sad that Mom has grief and mental health issues... but she also has enough moments of clarity to understand what she's inflicting on her family. And the father sure does. Adulting means you get your shit together for your kid, or you get gone. But I guess this part reflects real life: when you're white and middle-class, you don't have to worry that your super-shitty parenting will cause someone to take away your kid.
