It’s the same as for your typical off the shelf pistol crossbow. I’d say for firing as fast as possible, probably not more than 10 yards. If you take time aiming, maybe 20?

I bought the autoloader 7 magazine a while back, like 6 or 7 months ago. I freaking love it, but the green lever that presses the bolts down has bent over time. I can get about 4-5 shots until the lever can't hold the bolts down anymore and it fails to shoot. It's not too much of a big deal, I will try to make my own out of a different material.

I like the tip about the front grip. I noticed the reviews when shopping and people were complaining about Chinese made. I am pretty sure that China invented the crossbow and the first mag for one, which would make it the first mag ever. Just sayin'. They also did gunpowder and the first firearm. What I wonder is why the rail doesn't extend the full length of the lid I have a prism optic I use with my bow, (since I have trouble with red dots) which has a pretty short eye relief. I wanna try a magazine like this, but with a rail that extends all the way to the back end, so I can use my sight with it. Is there a reason the rail can't go the full length of the lid?
@FlechetteArchery6 ай бұрын
it would interfere with the latches that keep the lid closed. you could try adding a picatinny rail riser, something like this: www.amazon.com/Eastern-Tactical-Supply-Riser-Picatinny/dp/B0CQ24BG7T Though I feel like that might get a little unwieldy, especially opening and closing it to load.

I use those two piece aluminum bolts. I use a some what medium hard blanket as my target. I fold it several times, then hang it up against nothing, no back drop. All my bolts stay in tacked, no breakage or anything. I shoot a gazillion times, no problems. The key is that it doesn't go all the way into the blanket, only a little bit. So, the fletchings never break or anything.

Love it. On the one side, the “serious crossbow market” keeps pushing the envelope on speed. Then there’s this segment, the mag-feed segment, that is IMO far more exciting. Sprave essentially created a whole market.
@FlechetteArchery9 ай бұрын
Thanks. Completely agree that they're two different markets, as they should be. The "serious" hunting market wouldn't want or really need multiple quick shots. High power, 'one shot, one kill' is really the point of good hunting. The mag-feed crossbows are more aimed at target shooting fun. (at least in my mind) And yes, big thanks to Joerg. His videos plus being cooped up from the pandemic is what got me started down this path back in 2020. 😃

Great weapon. I don’t know why but I stumbled on this and thought “this is a great home defense tool” this is not a toy and you could realistically get a few shots off before who ever you’re defending yourself against even knows where you are. People think pumping the shotgun is a good idea but it gives you away. From 20 ft in which most self defense situation occur at anyways this thing is a beast and like I said it’s quiet. I’m getting a Baer XL and the AR-7 magazine with a speed loader to add to my little arsenal
@FlechetteArchery10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think they get the reputation of "a toy" when comparing to full size crossbows for hunting. But yes, they are definitely not a toy, and within about 10-15 yards could certainly do some damage. Regarding the sound, they're not as loud as cocking a shotgun, but they're not not silent either. Personally i like having the sound. Serves as a nice warning. ;)
@djmorodaraye431310 ай бұрын
So I really want to buy one of these, but my biggest problem is these bows suck with accuracy because of the tiny fletchings, and your 3D printed model also has the holes for the tiny fletchings. Is there any way you can make a model to where? I can put a 3 or 4 inch fletching on there. So I can have better accuracy
@FlechetteArchery10 ай бұрын
Honestly, I don't think longer fletchings would improve them much. They still use short, lightweight bolts, and have a short draw length. For better accuracy and longer range, you'd want something like the Adder from gogun. Either that or a full size crossbow.
