$12 a gallon for petrol in New Zealand, other countries have a long way to go to catch up with such a easy tax grab

You forgot the mention the 3.4 trillion tax cut by the convicted felon, mostly favoring the rich. That is what is largely responsible for the increasing deficits seen today. But wait it gets worse. It was done at a time when that fiscal stimulus was not even needed. It was just a giveaway to the rich. The inflation reduction act tried to roll back some of those tax cuts and beef up tax enforcement focused on rich and corporate tax cheats. You conveniently didn't mention any of those things either.

4.5% bond rates They just won’t be able to have a successful bond auction at rates lower than inflation. You’re very hopeful Sir. But it’s higher rates forever for the debt ridden disgrace that the USA has become.

If the bond auctions aren’t fully subscribed the rate goes higher to get them fully subscribed. If the US can’t roll the bonds (they will never default) interest rates will go higher for the government and there is nothing anyone can do. No one wants to own a long term bond whose yield is at or near inflation, in a currency that is likely to decline. Rates are going higher forever and there is little the US government or FED can do about it. If you consider demand for bonds is already less than supply and supply is massively increasing (Houston we got a real big problem and there is nothing any American can do about it. Look up failed treasury bond auctions and you’ll see the crisis that is assured.
@JamesHowarth42
@JamesHowarth42 10 сағат бұрын
Dear Mr Rosenberg With respect you should re evaluate everything you just said under the lens that the last two US bond auctions failed. 0% chance rates go down and bonds get rolled over at those low rates.

“Cut rates aggressively”. What people fail to realize as US bond auctions continue to remain not fully subscribed is that people won’t buy US bonds in a failing currency at rates lower than inflation. They won’t be able to “cut rates aggressively” and retain the ability to rollover massive debt quantities.

Is gold really worth it to buy ? In terms of the short term considering taxes and overall cost of upfront purchase then trying to resell when I actually need the liquidity, is physical or gold stocks more worth the cost ? Because it seems to be when people speak of gold their not being specific to the short term or Long term approach to justifying the purchase. Let me know your thoughts , thanks anyone

Gold is often seen as a safe-haven asset that can protect against inflation and economic uncertainty. But like any investment, it carries risks. To determine if gold is the right investment option for you, an investment advisor can help you weigh the potential benefits and risks of investing in gold. They can also help you create a well-diversified portfolio that includes gold as part of a broader investment strategy. An investment advisor can help you decide how much of your portfolio should be allocated to gold and select other investments that can complement your gold holdings.

We have been hearing about the supply demand deficit for 5 years now and yes the price is slowly moving up it makes me wonder if there is a constant stream of supply coming into the market place to suppress the price. To get it going we need the Chinese to suck up all the supply the same way they are doing with gold.

Crypto will crash for sure when the markets crash due to the recession. It is a lot easier to sell and get out of Bitcoin and other crypto than it is for example for gold and silver stackers to sell their metal if they suddenly really need to due to the rug being pulled out from underneath everyone and liquidity drying up. I agree that we could see a dip in gold and silver when the markets crash but it will be from a higher level and it will not be to the same extent as the broader markets and crypto. After the drop in precious metals we will then see gold and silver go on a massive bull rally just as we did during the Global Financial Crisis as more people move to safe haven assets like this.

It's Jimmy Connor, thanks for the comment Kevin! You raise an interesting point about the movement away from globalization to nationalism and it will be interesting to see how this shakes out in 5 or 10 years. At the end of the day, countries need to trade with other countries to survive and I don't think nationalism works. The US is fortunate because its neighbor to the north has everything it needs in oil, gas, uranium, lithium and so much more but a country like China which has little in terms of resources cant survive.
