Isn’t it funny how nature can bless such a horrible, self centered, just plain mean bitch with the most wonderful of voices?

She was Prima Donna Absuluta , but you would never know it from these ridiculous interviews !!! Nothing about her amazing career .She is an artist par excellence... Barbara Walters should have kneeled at her feet instead of asking questions that really have nothing to do with the extraordinary legend which was La Divina....

Many interviews with Maria Callas are rude and they ask stupid questions to get some scandal or attention nobody of those morons is in any way acknowledging her many talents. Maria Callas was one in a million talent very intelligent and outspoken for the time when she was born which was great I think.

I am disgusted by the way reporters treated her (especially Mike Wallace who was gross to most of the females he interviewed). She was such a composed, talented, beautiful, self aware woman and she handled silly, invasive and judgemental questions with an enormous amount of wit and grace.

Words cannot express enough thanks to Maria Callas for the joy that her gift has brought us. Her voice was purely from heaven; no discussion about it !

Such intrusive & disrespectful questioning as if Maria's life was defined by one man. She looks lovely here.

I have just watched the Mike Wallace interview where she said she had never had to bribe anyone for work...when pressed she said other artistes had to give money or "give themselves". That seems to have passed Wallace by and he just kept on at her about Onassis and Jackie Onassis and other spiteful questions. She was magnificent.

Walter’s was a horrible interviewer. She arrived with a list of questions and was not able to go with the flow. Callas opened the four to discussing her childhood and painful relationship with her mother, but Walters was clueless. What a shame!!!

i love Maria’s honesty and i relate to her in every possible way. her demands are not so great, especially for a person of her sensitivity and absolute connectedness to the music.

These interviewers were trying to make her as if nobody liked her and that she wasn’t good anymore while the world actually loved her. They tried to create (like with many celebrities) the feeling that “you are finished” which is typical to the way Hollywood tortures the artists. In the end they finished her like they finished Michael Jackson and they said “she killed herself cause she was sad”. It is ritualistic torture and murder by Hollyweird truly.

I was at this performance and at the first intermission Callas went through the crowd to much applause and entered the Belmont room . As she walked by me I offered her my program and asked if she would sign it but she smiled at me and said "I don't sign when I don't sing". It was an exciting night and I can at least say I had a conversation with Maria Callas!!!

There was another interview he did with her and Sir Thomas Beecham, she in New York, and Beecham in London, which had some very funny moments. When Beecham spoke, he would often become blustery. At one point it got pretty annoying to Madame Callas, and, trying to restrain herself, snapped “Sir Thomas, please-you’re hurting my eardrums!” Murrow couldn’t restrain himself from laughing!

The journalists must have been very unfair to her. She can't have been a figure of scandals with such great elegance and grace. Every human being has the right to show some anger reaction at certain times. How they must have exaggerated the few occasions as suchv.
