McCallum need to stop pushing that false narrative that Hagler ducked him while he was the middleweight champion. McCallum didn't move up to the middleweight division until 1988 and lost his first fight (at middleweight) to the legendary Sumbu Kalambay by unanimous decision. Hagler retired in 1987.

Wow! That would have been a slobberknocker!! 🥊.. I’d still take Pryor by late stoppage, especially in a 15 round fight

Julio was only 126 pounds when Pryor fought Arguello. Chavez moved to the 140 lbs division in 1988. Impossible for that fight to have happened, Pryor would have been more diminished, against the Chavez that stopped Mayweather in 1988.

Chavez had an underrated defense, had better defense than Arguello and a better chin. I disagree, Pryor was hurt by Arguello, and Pryor would have not had an easy night with Chavez at all.

Very sad that Graham never got the breaks early in his career. He was without a doubt the best British Middleweight of all time! (And I am a Hugh Benn fan!)

You can talk some shit if he was under contract why wasn’t it taken to The Board or to court? Oh yes it was and Choi was out of contract hence why he returned back home to Mongolia, myself and Ciaran Baynes went back and brought him back to fight, so please stop, talking nonsense, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I met Brendan Ingle by appointment at his gym in 1985/86, there was only Brendan and myself present, Brendan spoke to me about his training style and emphasised his great great admiration for Muhammad Ali, he said there was no one who could touch Ali and repeatedly praised the style of Muhammad, from that day on it was clearly apparent to me that Brendan Ingle had adopted the style of Muhammad Ali, ( weather that was influenced by Herol or not I do not know ) I trained at the gym for 3 years and (was subject to Brendans constant advise about style change ) I stubbornly resisted and retained my own unique style, and although my style worked very well, and, I had no problem sparring with Herol or Johnny Nelson, Brendan was not ever too pleased with me, I believe I am the person who Herrol refers to 1min19 sec re-there was one fighter that wouldn't change, OUT OF ALL THE FIGHTERS IN THAT GYM HERROL GRAHAM WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS GENUINE AND SINCERE, A GENTLEMAN 💯

The greatest British boxer never to win a world title? Well, it's either Herol or Dave Charnley or perhaps both (a draw). Herol may have stood Benn and Eubank on their heads in training but it's a different thing and feel in a real fight and both Benn and Eubank are ex-world champions, something which Herol narrowly missed out on. He all but had it ( the WBC middleweight title) in the bag before getting careless with a desperate and vicious hitting Julian Jackson; Herol was asleep and snoring before he hit the canvas. Before that, he got pipped at the post by Mike MacCallum (no disgrace there of course) and was doing well and winning against Charles Brewer until he ran out of gas and got tagged. Still, he had the kind of career most professional boxers can only dream of and I wish him all the very best.

I don’t think Hagler was just ducking Mike, I believe he was, lol. He wouldn’t have made alot of money fighting Mike . His name didn’t stand out like “ Sugar” Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns , and a few others . Just like now , it’s about how much money your name alone can draw . With all do respect to Mike he is a great fighter and all , but he wasn’t a very big draw . Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard knew that . At that time even now, that could be devastating losing to a no name who is not a big draw . All these guys knew that and didn’t want that to happen. It would be a downfall for their careers . Mike was a very dangerous good fighter at that time . Giving respect to the name Marvin Hagler who is not with us anymore .
