fan in 86 when I first heard them. I was ten. They scared and intrigued me. I couldn't see their skin color. I could feel how awesome they were as musicians. I could get behind the messages to support the underdog. They were heros. They were outstanding people. As a drummer, I went to Berklee because Will went there and he was magical. I wanted to copy his style so I worked hard. Cult of Personality taught me not to listen to the talking head, the enigmatic figure just because they had something to sell me. George Floyd wasn't or shouldn't be a hero to black people. Can we just drop the black, white, hispanic etc and say people? he wasn't a hero. You wouldn't leave your kids with him. They've become the problem. This is probably the last time I listen to them. It's a shame because their musicianship, songwriting and originality used to be once in a lifetime for me.

Why are they playing it so dang FAST? It feels way funkier at the recorded tempo. Still a jam though.

Dang I was expecting at least Steve (with having more confidence not to blow it ) to do some harmonic dive bombs in the solo….

Vai's solo is so much better than Vernon's.....Vernon is a fantastic rhythm player but his lead work leaves me really disappointed...just my take on it.

a little off topic story that this Living Color video reminded of... Their first album was recorded and produced by Ed Stasium, who, funny enough retired to small town Bayfield Colorado for about 15 years, outside Durango, CO. He contacted me after hearing radio ads for my music program at the charter school I taught at. He was kind enough to come into my HS music classes on regular basis, to co-teach a recording class I put together for my music program. Then a few years later, after I left the public school program to start a non-profit "school of rock" type program, he was kind enough to help us set up our own recording booth, and helped record and mix CD's for the classes. The kids had NO IDEA who he was and how fortunate they were to have him involved with our program. Fun Days. Ed had me over once to record a steel drum part (My public school music program included a steel drums in our band). It was the quickest recording session I've ever done. One take, about 5 notes, took about 1 minute. He sang a melody he wanted to record me playing on steel drum for some European Pop/Rock band he was mixing for at the time. He said, "OK we're good, I'll cut and paste it into the song." Funny thing, if I google my name, I actually got credit for playing that part on the album, which I did not expect. He's now out in Poway, CA... re-mastering albums in Dolby Atmos. I was out there to visit last year when I went home to see family in S.D., and he sat me down in his mixing room chair to hear what dolby atmos is all about (I had never heard of it). Something like 19 speakers surround you. Like comparing a 5" Black 'n White TV screen to IMAX. Simply Unbelievable. He played me two songs he was currently working on remastering in dolby atmos. 1- the first song he EVER recorded : Gladys Knight and the Pips': Midnight Train to Georgia 2- Bad Company's; Feel Like Making Love For someone like me, who only listens to MP3 and lesser quality music formats, it was a once in a lifetime experience. For this old mountain man, hillbilly drummer that never gets out to the city, and loves to hold up in my old cabin, I have to say, I am thankful to Ed for sharing that with me and for helping me with my classes back in the day. Thanks ED!

This dude is so freaking cool to me. I first heard this song on grand theft auto growing up and recently revisited this song. It’s gotten AT LEAST 4 plays every single day since January . I looked up the original video and I low key wanna cosplay as him next event lol. I’ve already got the same hair. The yellow/black costume would be easy to make , only thing is trying to find an economic/simple way to show who I’m dressed as. There are fully grown adults now in this world who were born in 2003 lol they don’t know about most early 2000’s music- let alone this
