My favourite zidane moment ever, is the headbut actually. It wasnt wild agression or just the need to act alpha. Of all the people he could of headbutted,, he did it to materazzi, the guy who wanted everyone to know how much of psychopath he is. I'll probably never forget how he retired down that tunnel, all alone. But very quickly after that I had peace with it. Zidane had been such a unique player, of course he was going to retire in a unique way. I'm also not French so that also helped massively ;) I believe the general consensus was at the time that Materazzi was calling Zidane's sister some not so nice things, which earned him the headbutt. You have to also consider that Materazzi was one of the best defenders but also a very nasty one, very adept at fouling players just out of sight of the referee, which made many people dislike him. I believe he had the nickname "razor". I mean, I shouldn't have, but I was celebrating that move.
