I just keep coming back mainly to this video for some analysis or inspiration for the ski season. The early edging, the toppling, smoothness & rythm.. It is all just so near perfect it is so insane!

I like following in the tracks of skiers carving like Ted. I mean exactly in their track so only one track is visible. I also stay within one ski leghnth behind them so they have to trust me not to fuck up. From that vantage point I can observe the edge change/ weight transfer. All the from behind videos I have seen are shot by someone snowplowing behind not making the turns. You can't see the edge change and it looks plain dangerous.

Does the (CBL 2.0 ICE/DEEP BLUE MIRROR) perform fine in dark wite outs, or would I be better off getting the nighttime goggle?
@SHREDoptic4 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you very much for your question. The Contrast Boosting Lens 2.0 ICE/DEEP BLUE MIRROR performs exceptionally well in dark whiteouts by boosting contrast and definition to defeat flat light better than any other lens. However, the Contrast Boosting Lens 2.0 NIGHTTIME is specifically tailored for night skiing/riding, sunrise, sunset, and other extremely dark conditions. So, for extremely low lighting conditions, no matter the weather, the NIGHTTIME lens might be a better choice. Please choose based on your primary use case and let us know if you have any other questions.

Mr. GS makes it look easy. At least he slowed down so they could film him.

Definitely one of the best videos of one of the best World Cup Alpine racers. But any chance of posting a slow motion version of this with Ted Ligety? It'd give us a better view of his super quick angulation technique that put him on the podium.
@SHREDoptic5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately we don't have a slow motion version of this one, but this video from the NYT >> kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZKQZ6qvZbOVpdEsi=6qsmKdF1vMdH1EKi is best at showing and analyzing Ted's technique.

I was skiing today and attempting to carve. Then on two consecutive turns, I touched the snow with a hand. An image of Ted Ligety popped in my head right after that. I'm glad that no one was filming me so that I kept the feeling of skiing like him for a fleeting moment intact 🤣!

This shows how simple and easy skiing is to understand and thus, do. You just need the ability to see it. Nobody teaches how to do that because they can't.

Coaches need a trained eye to spot subtle movements during transitions. It also helps if you can do the moves to a degree as the kinesthetic feeling is very different from what an observer sees from behind.
