Not what I would expect from an upgrade. Why can you not attach the struts to the fuselage instead of transferring all that bouncing and bumping to the wing spar? Then, you could actually put shock cords on the gear! Using tires for shock absorption is pretty primitive! I grimace whenever my Eros hits a hole or bump, as I can feel it shudder through the entire airframe. It is the one thing I dislike about Mini-Max. Even better yet, why not a cantilever wing and get rid of the struts altogether? Or, at least put the attach points outside the cabin, so you could fold the wings up, instead of having to remove them? I would buy a new one with these improvements, but will replace this one when worn out. I need something more capable of unimproved strips. This thing takes way more abuse on the ground than in flight!

Does the roll not affect the elevator with this kind of mechanics?
@jameswhitman39345 жыл бұрын
Seems like you've been waiting some time for a reply, but it's a good question and I'll do my best. If the yaw control is allowed to spin freely on the roll axis ( which it would have to be for this setup) then the fact that the joint for the elevator is lined up with the roll axis control allows it to rotate with out effecting one or the other. Look at the rectangular geometry of the elevator controls on the video again and you'll see what I mean.

OMG I think flaps are not necessary plz reply if u have idea I want to know it
@anim8ted9237 жыл бұрын
This animation shows ailerons, not flaps. Ailerons, coordinated with the rudder, allow an airplane to make smooth banked turns, rather than "skidding" through turns. Ailerons turn opposite of each other, as shown in this animation. Flaps (not shown in this animation) come down at the same time on both wings. They allow heavy airplanes to land on shorter runways. Some light aircraft (like the Piper Cub) don't have flaps, but all airplanes have ailerons.
@abdaleali14387 жыл бұрын
Kevin Thorp thanks but I want to build airplane in my home so how can I make flaps that's what I only don't know. I know that's ailerons not flaps, flaps goes simultaneous but how can I make falps plz tell me or small aircraft it's not necessary I do more research but I'm not getting any result
@anim8ted9237 жыл бұрын
Generally if the landing speed is less than 40 mph (64 kph) most planes don't need flaps. But designing an airplane is very serious. A mistake can be fatal! There are proven, safe plans available to build light aircraft. The MiniMax, for example offers free plans. Hundreds have been built, with a good safety record.

Abdale Ali It‘s not needed for slow planes, but if it’s faster like a piper cadet or Cessna 172, it needs flaps or not enough lift and drag can be generated, resulting in a longer takeoff and landing distance and higher stall speed.
