This revelation blew me away. Madoka has been a crazy ride for me and this, accompanied by the absolutely gorgeous score , was just the most impactful moment of the whole story.

The 2003 anime is good if you decide to appreciate it for what it is. It isn't an adaptation of the manga and really shouldn't be regarded as such. It's an alternate interpretation based around a story that was absolutely nowhere near finished yet. While some characters did get the shaft compared to their manga counterparts because of this (Kimblee and Bradley are the first to come to mind), in other characters they completely and totally the essence of the character. Mustang is absolutely one such character.

Honestly love the fact that this was foreshadowed from the very start right in our faces constantly yet the audience is none the wiser. Labyrinths are always the only places that use trippy, artistic environments, visuals and mechanics, yet we would be seeing that all over town in this movie from the start. And a typical audience would go "huh this is weird but then again this is the style of Madoka Magica, they like doing trippy visuals." They've been showing plainly from the start that they've been in a labyrinth and its so clever

The way Homura spoke with Kyoko, alongside how Kyoko responded, makes it seem like Homura is telling Kyoko she's going to take her own life, and Kyoko reacting in horror.

His speech in this 2003 anime is heartwarming and reasonable. That proves why I believe Mustang 2003 is best with a major reason on being Fuher so badly.

This is my favorite characterization of Kyoko. She’s got sass, but at the first inclination that something is seriously wrong with Homura, there’s no guesswork. She’s trying to reach her. “Tell me where you are and I’ll come get you!” It’s way better than the snark she portrayed 98% of the time in the main series, in my eyes, at least.
