I love seeing all of the vote pro-life signs! It helps remove some of the polarizing characteristics of the candidates and focuses on an extremely critical issue.

Hey now. I won't watch Andrew's unless he preaches in Effingham. I got 3 pages of notes from Jeff's. I cant speak for the whole group but I know I don't blindly "follow" our "cult leader"😅

Honestly started at a 5 but I knew there would be amazing content and lessons to be taught and learned from an unassuming book hidden in the New Testament. After week 1 and the podcast, I’m at a 7. Keep it coming!!

Hi there! I’m Drew. Long time listener first time commenter lol. I’m at about a 9 right now. The only reason I’m not a 10 is because I still need to read the book as well. I’m not “Brown Nosing”, but honestly I always like what you guys teach because unfortunately, I’m not as educated in the Bible as you guys are. So there is always something new for me to learn. Which proves I need to be in the Word more frequently. I also love listening to the Podcast and I always look forward to the next episodes. I do have one for you guys though. Is there other Bible teaching podcasts or KZbin channels that you guys would recommend? Thanks for doing all of this as well and good luck this Deer Season!

Before this podcast I was about a 3, after I'd say 8. If there was a chart I'd be at an 11.

I had never read Titus before this sermon series, not proud of it, but it's a fact. I work in a very secular setting, with language not that different from what Matt was describing. Hearing Matt talk about his father in that setting gives me encouragement and motivation to live out the qualities described in Titus 1. Thank you for the series on Titus and the podcast!

I'm missing something. With the curtain torn it sounds like upon entering we are going where only the high priest is allowed. Or with the torn curtain is it not necessary to enter?

It was difficult for the pagans of Athens because what was presented to them was so similar to the worship of the god Mithra. Worshiping a MAN as a GOD presented problems for them that Judaism did not. For a time, Judaism became much more popular than that of paganism or Christianity - especially in Rome. Judaism presented a true departure from the multi-theism of pagan worship. The idea of a singular god that was omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent also is difficult for Christians to understand. However, that is the true definition of echod - a singular monotheistic religious belief. It is difficult to understand and requires much study.

But "sin" according to THIS church will be different than "sin" at the NEXT church, and "not sin" at the one down the street. You've got the Old Testament literalist churches who say the "old covenant" rules still apply (yet will break the allowing women to speak, eating seafood, wearing mixed fabric, and separate huts for menstruation rules). Then you've got the New Testament next-gen churches who believe the "new covenant" is the way (but ignore the actual covenant and are openly anti-immigrant, anti-welfare, anti-healthcare, and anti-anything that helps the sick or homeless). Then there's "The Bible's Metaphorical" churches with progressive liberal values who believe it's all about a soul's relationship with its creator and less about sin or a literal hell (but those other churches will say this is "the devil's church" for not believing their way). And I haven't even touched on the more extremist JWs, Mormons, Pentecostals, etc. Basically, right and wrong, mortality and immorality, sin and sinlessness, all depend on the four walls you're worshipping within. What's "right" to god changes from one book and chapter to the next and from one church to another. Just do what's right and loving for you, for your loved ones, and for your neighbors. At the end of the day, if doing the right thing lands you in hell, that God was never good enough to be worshipped to begin with. 🙏🏻
