Do you need lessons for these? I’ve never used a kayak or anything similar but would love to use one of these along the Brisbane river. And are they safe from tipping over? The river is gross and dirty and also has quite a lot of bull sharks which scare the hell out of me. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks! :)

Most of this kind drop stitch kayaks are produced in China. Of course they copy each other, so their products look pretty similar. As what the Bay Sports said in another post, they come in different quality levels. Asymmetrical cut shape or not straight glued on front "fin" are often mentioned, the boat would never run straight. Other complaints had been flooring not straight, or folds breaking. On Alie I find few user reviews, because they delete too negative comments. The point I am making is, you will not know what you get. An unbranded Kayak of a reputable brand, or a piece of crap.

You can’t compare the Breeze to the Epic V5. The specs are nearer to the Epic V7. The Epic V7 is slightly quicker than the Breeze. Still a nice ski

We're just starting out. We have two el cheapo inflatables on order to see if we like kayaking without spending too much coin. This kayak looks perfect and if me and the wife take to the sport we'll consider this kayak for sure. In fact, after all the the research I've done, this kayak is top of the list. We're in our 70's so we need a small light safe kayak with a rudder and plenty of storage space. No records will be either attempted or broken, and my wife has to feel safe and comfortable. Me, I'm a bit more of a risk taker, but my wife won't do it if she feels compromised. This one looks the business and it's not too expensive....

I got the 473 cm 2021 model and I like it. It's relatively heavy, and using the seat cushions your center of gravity is higher than I personally enjoy it but the hardware is just nicely made, it maneuvers great, its damn fast and easily sails in a straight line (this was always an issue with cheaper kayaks). So worth the money, surely.

Where does the fish finder go ?
@BaySportsCo3 ай бұрын
Underneath the hull theres a special recess for the transducer arm / sonar to sit, with the arm coming up through a scupper hole, to connect to the fish finder screen.

Hi there, I got the 2.5 meter version and really like it. noticed in the video you hand tightened the rudder bolt and then used the Allen key to further tighten the bolt. My question is how tight do i make it? How many turns of the Allen key after hand tightened? And are you supposed to remove the rudder after every outing to wash the bolt/washer associated with the rudder? Thanks in advance.

Dont know if i will get a response, but im eyeing this off as my first kayak. Im just wondering, does the pedal drive with the flaps do reverse and forward? Or is it just the prop that does this?
@BaySportsCo10 ай бұрын
Hey Archer! The flap drive system is just forward direction only, but this model you can get the propeller drive also (you can switch between flap or propeller), and that drive system does reverse as well as forwards. It's a crackin' kayak, happy to help with any more enquiries!

Hey guys, I think this might be a winner for my first ever fishing kayak! Does the rudder fling up like the pedal system? Would hate to snap it as I go to launch it into the water. Also can the wheels that you add to the back be left on as you’re in the water too?
@BaySportsCo11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes the rudder will kick up if it hits a submerged object to protect to rudder. And yes. You can leave the wheels on whilst out kayaking so you can literally wheel it into the water and head out.

That is certainly a modern upgrade from the original (about 2016) 10 foot Native Slayer Propel kayak. The design is certainly similar to the Natives - sits low in the water and can take big waves with no way for water to enter into the hull. Great job. I noted that Bay Sports also has the 3.9 meter version which is very similar to my 2016 13 foot Native Slayer Propel! I have always contended that the Native Slayer line was always ahead of its time and I have owned 3 Hobies and several paddle kayaks before buying. The only challenge I see with this Bay Sports line is "Can it be electrofied?" My preference is to electrify via the drive bay, but the 4" clearance limits what can be put in that opening. Good job guys! I have not seen another manufacturer making something like this! I'm 70 years old and will likely fish from my similar Native for as long as possible.

Thanks for the kind words! To answer you question, absolutely: the Pedal Pro 3.2m has an optional electric pod motor, that goes where the pedal drive unit slots in. Just connect it up to a battery and you're cooking with gas! This model has been in the range for 6 years now, and has only improved and is still one of the top selling pedal kayaks. The pedal drive unit is a seriously solid piece of gear. happy paddling Michael!
@BaySportsCo11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Michael. And yes - we have the Electric Pod Motor which slots in where the pedal drive system is, making it an electric powered kayak! 🎉
