Any chance you were at the fountain in Pittsburgh on June 14th or so? I had just finished the C&O and GAP, and you look like a guy that chatted with me about the trail. I had a vintage Raleigh touring bike. The timing seems right.

@@davidpoole9705 I think I replied to the wrong comment earlier! We started started Sunday June 16- I did talk to a few people but i know that start date is correct- can’t remember the bikes they had but I do remember 2 people that had just finished. Hope you enjoyed as much as we did!

Absolutely enjoyed it, and I recommend it. I do think starting in DC is the better direction. The uphill is hardly noticable.

Is there a reason you didn't bring along a water filter for the trail? It would have saved time not searching for water to buy and weight carrying all that extra water?

Good point! I had watched several youtube videos on the ride before I left and no one ever mentioned that water was an issue. I had a filter but didn't bring it. Thought there would be plenty of places to find water along the way. It's no problem on the GAP but C&O is a little more secluded. Not leaving home without it on any future trips! We actually used every single bottle I carried in on the last night between cooking 2 meals and just drinking them. You learn something each time. Thanks for the comments.

We started June 16 - either just missed you or were out there same time. Also took the train home (to North Carolina). Agree - it was a blast! Thanks for the comments and great to hear you enjoyed it as well.

Looks like fun. This trail is on my list. I was in SW Va. a few weeks ago and did the New River trail and the Virginia Creeper trail. If you are interested, I posted a video on my channel of one so far, thanks.

Awesome! New River Trail was our first choice that weekend since it was closer to my home, but a bridge was out which is now open, so it on my list. Stay tuned for GAP/C&O - heading there Saturday. 6 days of bikepacking. I'll check yours out as well. Your name is familiar so I think I may have already seen it but will look again. This stuff is way too much fun. Wish I had discovered it 40 years ago!

David, Scott here, we have enjoyed your recent videos documenting your BRP trip. Wondering if you are going to upload the remainder of them to the end of the trip in NC. I’ve done the Parkway a dozen times with another trip coming up in September. Here is one of my videos, kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5vRmp6ijdKCfs0
