Thanks for the video is really helpful to have a sense of your process from sketch to render, I try to learn as much as I can from this.

Beutiful work. This shows that Krita has come a long way to emulate real wet oil mediums.

You make it easy for yourself by tracing the image and color pick the reference. Though it is efficient to do so it does not improve your observation skill which you will need if you ever paint from life
@DigiPaint_dickens18 күн бұрын
@luonguyen2005 Excuse me, but none of this is true. There are other of my videos where you can see the whole process. I know from my experience that the sketching part is the most boring, and people usually skip it. You can see I'm using a custom palette and not picking... Think whatever you want. Cheers!

@@DigiPaint_dickens After seeing the other video I believe you and owe you an apology. In the other video the cursor never goes over to the reference photo while in this video there are numerous occasions the cursor that looks like an eye dropper was over the reference giving the impression that you were color sampling the photo

It reminds me of "Portrait of Saskia van Uylenburgh", and some others. But you did it in reverse, where Rembrandt painted cloth and garments with so much detail, that it looked like a photo, while face looked like painting. But in your case you made garments look like a painting, while face like a photo. So, if you wanted to be like Rembrandt, good job! I actually prefer combination "painted garments and realistic skin and face" rather than "realistic cloth and painted face". I presume many models of Rembrandt were rich noble woman who were not that beautiful, so he and many ofther painers just ommited details like wrinkels and focused on clothing.

Hi digi paint , i really love your paintings... i was wondering if you using any custom brushes or these are just the default brushes that comes with krita?? really love the video, because this is how i approach painting i start first with the values than i paint over them cause i know which value i used for each part.

I don't think the software matters... Fist of all I'm an artist in the real word and familiar with traditional techniques. There is indeed a learning curve at the beginning, but not difficult with experience

If I would have lived in a world of wizards who can levitate objects with their wands and have control over elements, but that world would not have any non-wizard artist, if art like this would be only privilege of some few, and if I could choose between magic and such proficiency in art as you show, then I think, I might have choose art. I mean, I don't know what would I do for sure, but my point is, ability to make art really good is the closest thing to magic I can think off. There are, of course, magicians and illusionists in our world, but their magic can be used by anyone who has the materials and knows their secrets, while art is a skill. Thank you for giving me possibility to witness a display of such skill; it was truly, magical.
