Jack had a nasty temper and a maverick streak, but I always liked the softer side he showed with his son Stephen.

"John Hallam was a _big_ man, in every sense of the word. Not only was he a devoted husband to Sandra, to whom our thoughts go out; but he was also an outstanding firefighter. In all my years in this job, I have never met anyone who better represented the values that make the Fire Service unique. John didn't just give a lot. He gave _everything._ Why? _Because the Brigade was in his blood._ When he was offered a golden opportunity on civvy street, he stayed loyal to the Brigade. Even when he was seriously injured in a previous incident, he didn't desert us. When he was needed, John Hallam was always there. His death was a tragic loss, but his life, and the manner of his going, will always be an inspiration. His courage was... _absolute_ ...right to the very end. John gave everything. He even gave his life. I'm proud to have known him." Nick Georgiadis at John Hallam's funeral.

@OnafetsEnovapI wish they'd ended it with unveiling that plaque for Hallam at the end of this season; and then had the new Sub taking roll call over the credits, as a nod to the ending of the pilot movie.

How come Geoff didn’t like chuck him a line or owt, the worst thing they did was kill John, he was my fave and I’m only 12 watching reruns
@jane19752 жыл бұрын
@Lucy Lou: There was no way he could have done that, the platform was way to unstable, they both would have fallen to their deaths and Sean was the one whom wanted to leave and kill his character off, rather than leave his contract open and not Michael Garner whom played Geoff who stayed until the series ended and got remarried and had a child with Fiona and none of that would have happened had they both fallen.

@@tegusnakegaming1441 I swear the amount of people that complain about Geoff in this scene actually hurt. Its like they would have preferred both died. Personally John dying and the episodes following it were some of the best episodes of London's Burning with the drama and acting being on point.
@jane19752 жыл бұрын
@@LicencetoWho I know, and Michael Garner wasn't the one leaving either. The developmental arc of his character was also important, and John's death was part of that too and his wanting to make it up with his widow, Sandra and his loneliness and both losing John as a friend and colleague and then Sandra going [ although briefly returning only for her character to be completely written out ] was part of that too. Meeting Fiona too later and getting married and gaining a step-daughter and having child of their own was also apart of the characters pivotal change, and none of that would happened had they both died.

That glimmer of hope when he bounces on the metal and tries to roll himself to his left. The velocity must have given him the nose bleed. In terms of the making of the scene, I wonder how it was achieved? Stuntmen? WIres? Camera trickery? Combination of all three?
