Kind of like dishwashers. My mother always had 5 or 6 dishwashers in the house, and we worked in teams, one washing, one drying and doing quality control, sending back dishes that weren't completely cleaned. Then along came automation and our jobs were wiped out (thank God, but not before we completed high school. I think all children should have to stand at the sink and get their hands in the soapy water to learn that they can do the same thing as the automated dishwasher, and they might come out the wiser for it.)

In my opinion it's simple. WSH replaces a human. Using standard software. Everything that is in its implementation processes data so that it can be used in relation to ordinary software use. Python for example is both. It is software and its use. Machine code (compiled) is the best and fastest way to achieve the result. But that doesn't mean that running it will be the best solution. If we can analyze current needs with the use of script, we can run machine code. It's that simple.😊 ...For example, if you're a developer and you've created software with scripting in mind, you don't have to worry about updating how it works. Because you can simply change its operation by just updating the script. For example, I can give you a situation. I was doing some animation and it would be very difficult to create software for it. This means it would take much longer than the animation. I used Inkscape, Irfanview and WSH. 😉

I used to be scared of AI and to regard it as theft; I've come to realize this is not accurate. The notion that it's "theft" is being spread by people who feel that their incomes are threatened. Incomes should be protected, but we can't base the protection on a a premise that's untrue.

Hey, great video! In some university in my country, lots of uni offer computer science which focus on math and it needs an entrance exam that is about math which is sucks and I can't get an admisson so I go with Information Technology instead. They both kinda study the same stuff except that CS focus math more and a bit difficult compare to IT which focuses more on the technical side. My first year are about to start soon and tbh most companies doesn't care if you have a CS degree or an IT degree but whether if you can do a specific job. My dad didn't really like that I want to be a software engineer but I sometime also scared that an IT degree will get me nowhere. But than again, failing to get a cs degree is way worst than getting an IT degree since there are to much to learn for cs and not sure if I can handle it. Love your videos man 👍💙

I discovered your channel today and I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying your content. While I agree with most of your points, I would argue that the artistic community's complaint isn't about the possibility of their art being used as training tools without their consent, as they often claim. In my opinion, they simply sought a way to raise an ethical and moral debate (and they succeeded) to try to hinder the use of AI image generation tools. Notably, they never raise the same debate in the context of programming, music, etc., revealing their underlying fear of their work being devalued. Despite this, I view these tools as a significant benefit to society (and I say this as a musical composer and sound designer). They empower us to elevate our creations and democratize art, allowing us to express ourselves without necessarily possessing technical mastery. For instance, you can now express your soul through music, and I can bring incredible ideas to life using art generation tools. In the past, there have been protests against cameras, uber, and now generative AI tools. However, I believe technology will continue to thrive.
@creuzedeterosicleidegomesd4290
@creuzedeterosicleidegomesd4290 2 ай бұрын
I strongly agree with your point. AI tools have democratized the production of art, allowing those with an artistic soul to express themselves without requiring the technical mastery that, due to various factors, they may not have been able to acquire during their lifetime (which is truly unfortunate). Despite this, the ethical and moral debates raised by the artistic community are merely attempts to sabotage technology (which can be used to their advantage) solely to prevent the devaluation of their work. This closely parallels the situation you highlighted in the video comparing Uber drivers and taxi drivers about ten years ago. Regarding the ethical debates, I seriously doubt that these same artists who bring up this issue didn't download music online during the Napster era! Ultimately, I believe that artists who are unwilling to evolve or adapt to the new reality are trying to use a false moral stance to suppress a technology that has only positive contributions to offer society. Just as with the Uber x Taxi Drivers conflict in the past, I don't see them winning this battle. Congratulations on the video!

I will give a new perspective, I am from Spain, so I can speak of a good part of Europe which is the same (portugal, italy, france etc), here we have "informática/informatics" which is a engineering and it is englobe the whole computing curricula, so then you can take focus on these itineraries (computing, IT, IS, software engineering, or computer engineering) but the basis is totally the same (maths, physics, programming etc) and almost no body is gonna see what of these itineraries you enrolled, so is more "generic" decision. Anyways I did Ingeniería informática focused in Information Systems because I wanted something like computing and business but more focus on tech. Good video :)

Sir , i am freshman in Software Engineering in Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam, and my midterm test is essay and it includes automation check for plagiarism. May i ask you about my situation, i practice coding with CoPilot, using it to help me find the best solution and optimize my code, and over and over the times it became a part of my muscle memory, so whenever i face the problem again my brain just got the solutions out. So in my midterm if i write my code same same as the one i am used to (which comes from an AI and i found it effective so i take it to my brain), will it be counted as plagiarism ? I am really worried about it as i can see that practice coding with AI is very nice and i also learnt some of its best solutions for problems and it became a part of my muscle memory now, i do understand the code and how it works actually but i found it is useful so i just memorized them :))

One thing I wanted to add. I’m in IT for the past 25 years and I can’t tell you enough how important soft skills are; just being able to have a normal convo with someone about anything. LOTS of people in IT have trouble with this. They are all nerdy to different degrees, and having spent so much time in front of screens didn’t help them develop those softer skills. When I find someone in IT, especially in presales consulting, that knows the technology, plus can have a normal convo with a client, the sky’s the limit for that person. Learn the soft skills!!!

I come (without real certificates but still) from a more linguistic background. I was not a good student (or a student at all) growing up, but I had a natural talent for my language and writing things (french). I remember the battles at the time between the littarature students and the mathematics students, each one stuck in their own world. So to the question of "why are we bad at naming things", and the reason I found this video, I think it's because native language is in fact the primary programmation/scripting language - at least until you dig deeper and see that noises where the most primary thing, then signs, then who knows what (emotions maybe?). So in the end, it's all very specific industries with each their own knowledge, but it's important to understand you had to speak your own language before you could write computer languages. So when naming the terms, it's important to remember where the words have their roots before using them. I'm learning programming at a late age (34), but so many of my difficulties were not for logics or mathematics, but from translating from native language to programming language. One of this exemple being to "declare" or "re-declare" a variable, which made no sens to me until I went to understand one more layer.

I disliked computer science because of the “theory” stuff. It just seemed boring. The programming classes were okay. I would say IT which I switched to was more hands on. The class included labs and seemed more technical which I prefer. It has a more practical use compared to learning about math theories. The math wasn’t terrible but I feel computer science should be more related to programming and learning the practical languages. Having either degree though won’t get you a job in themselves. You need to study, use what you learn and make something. Both degrees also despite being in IT world have different career paths. With CS you should be learning programming and with IT you need to learn support and learn about hard ware, how to help an end user use a program and infrastructure. They are different careers and things within the IT world.
