The disconnect clearly does not pass NEC rules even without the barrier. 30" width about the disconnect, and 36" distance in front is required..

Came here looking for advice on a furnace that's displaying a "Twinning Circut" error code. Still, it doesn't make any sense since I have a single unit. Since my furnace was fine for years before this error, I have to think a wire has shorted somewhere.

Here it is summer 2024 and my 11 year old Goodman just died. My A/C guy just sold me a Daiken Fit with gas furnace. My Goodman would run 14-17 hours a day and not get under 80. And this summer has been murder. From the time they turned on my Fit it took less than 30 minutes to get my living room from 90 degrees to 74. My home has never been so comfortable! Although the system was considerably more than I expected at this point I’m elated with my purchase. Daiken has made me a believer. Now I’m looking forward to my first electric bill to see if the increased efficiency is what I was led to believe.

Does it mean there will not be heating supply to the indoor heads during a defrost? How long does it take for the outdoor unit to defrost and the indoor heads to get back to the heating mode? Where does the water from the defrost flow?
@TheDiskinsDoEverything8 ай бұрын
1. That is correct. 2. Very much depends, 5-10min 3. Out bottom of Heat Pump if installed properly. If not, then it pools in bottom freezes, pools, freezes and becomes a problem

Wish you were in Texas, have a 1935 house which needs serious updating. Just re-wired the whole place, wiring looked like that black and brown stuff from the 50's or 60's. No a/c or anything, it was built to have natural air flow from the front to the rear and use propane furnaces during winter. Furnaces aren't there but original piping for the propane is (probably also from the 60's).

@kevinhoronzy60118 ай бұрын
Check the data sheet. You can oversized the head units up to a max for a compressor. If I recall the heat side btu is where u should be concern. The cheaper units won’t perform as well such as Daiken down to 5degrees while cheaper ones only down to 31 degrees

Thanks for this useful video. We just had ours installed and have a split in the basement and one on the first floor (Daikin 3MXL24RMVJU condenser with an FTXR12 hi wall for 1st floor and a FTXR09 for basement with an FDMQ18 Compact ducted unit in attic tied to new insulated and sealed duct system in attic with ceiling supply registers in each room on top floor, one main return in hall.) and have left the two splits temp at about 65 for the majority of the time with the fan *on* most of the time. We now set the fan at auto or night so to use it less after what we read. We just got our first bill and it's $370 for only a month (early Nov-early Dec). That seems high. Can you help determine the cause? We live in Boston and get cold temps but that's not even peak winter yet. At one point in your video you mention the efficient cost of which we want to ensure we're getting too. Thanks!

My condo board is requesting the AC condenser to be 69 Decibels or lower. Is that normal? What is the typical decibel level for a non-high-end unit? Thank you
@TheDiskinsDoEverything Жыл бұрын
Depends on the size. A 2 ton with a 5 decibel compressor sound blanket could do it!
@jimcarbone7816 Жыл бұрын
I'm about to purchase a Bryant single stage 2.5 ton unit and the manufacturer says it's 70.8 decibels. My contractor said he can wrap it which could lower the decibels 2-4 decibels. is it normal for a condo board to require a 69 or lower decibel reading? I'm replacing a 20 year old Goodman which I'm sure was louder than 69 decibels.@@TheDiskinsDoEverything
@TheDiskinsDoEverything Жыл бұрын
@@jimcarbone7816 it is very common. Mostly they want 55, so 69 is very easy. The carrier/Bryant single stage AC is one of the best that has ever existed. Fyi, Lennox makes the best sound blanket, it is 5 decibel reduction if needed in the end

According to BSC duct work loses as much as 30% or more of what you have paid for. The mini-split? Not nearly so much. The split ducted and VFD system I have will soon move all the ducts into the conditioned space on short runs owing to the central location and convenience of pathways. That 3 ton unit will be reprogrammed to 2 tons and handle the loads just fine. The only real downside of the mini-split is that if one side of the unit goes down you must replace the whole system unless you are backward compatible to the old half of the system. Maybe that will change? Maybe it has already?

This is a good video. I have a Mitsubishi mini split and living in a house build in 1900 gave the installers a run for their money. Lots of doorways and windows and finding a way to place the units was a challenge. Just today I've put the LR and kitchen units on Auto to see if that helps keep me comfortable. According to Mitsubishi Auto is the way to go, we'll see.
