Beautiful scene and nicely done video. The music is appropriately serene and pastoral in its feel too.

Couple of questions: In the allowance example there were 10 entries and 2 AE. Why not run all 12 instead of ten? In the Stakes example they only took 7 of 19 nominations. Why not run the other 3 and fill the 10 spots? On the overnight example above the X races. What are the references to Off Races C1,C2 etc.?

Newbie question here. Let’s say you own 10% of a horse through wasabi. Do you get owner privileges such as owner trackside access at races? Are you able to meet the horse?, Also are you able to get an owners license? Thanks.
@WasabiVenturesStables5 ай бұрын
We typically offer 4.99% or less of our horses. Every track is different as to the amount of access our club members can have. We occasionally do barn visits but don't guarantee that you'll be able to meet horses. As for owner's licenses, we don't facilitate that. As you would own less than 5%, you aren't listed as an owner.

races entered for 40,000 or less when they write that in conditions like in your example. is that a PURSE amount 40k or a claiming TAG 40k? thanks!!

Can you explain what happens when the horse you bought a share of gets claimed, sold or retired? Thank you!
@WasabiVenturesStables9 ай бұрын
We finalized the financials for the horse. If it is a net positive, you receive your prorated portion. If it is a net negative, WVS covers the loss.

The first thing that hits you when you look at Justified is how solidly grounded he is, right through his body. This might sound an anathema in racing terms but it describes balance in a way that also implies everything is where it should be and that he is standing firmly on all four legs while in repose, four solid posts with the right angles for speed and soundness, it implies bone is more than sufficient, that his skeletal structure can accommodate good amount of muscling and impact. Even if his neck comes a bit too low off the wither and he could be more on the leg ie less oblong he is what is called a good "type". Generally you can expect certain problems by "type" alone, this you learn by looking at lots of horses. That is light of bone horses for example will often come with certain negative traits that often repeat in that "type" etc. My problem with TB breeding is that it is often at the expense of the horse. That is to say people will use horses with less than ideal conformation based just on pedigree for one example, such sires are sold at truly inflated prices purely based on that pedigree. The end result is that the horse deteriorates. It has indeed become incredibly difficult to find good grounded TBs as a result. Mare lines are becoming worse and worse and this is critical because when you do the same with mares you are simply rolling the dice each and every time with what you are producing. You have to actively breed away from genetic diseases like "soft pasterns". TBs are urgently in need of outcrossing to other horse breeds. But the point I want to make is that TBs are so inbred they have such a narrow gene pool al lof them that pedigrees actualy play a very very small part in any success. Ignore the marketing it's all hype geared to making max profit. Non genetic differences between individulas play a much bigger part in success so does training and other purely environmental influences. So don't fret if you cant buy yourself some over priced sire for you mares because you are getting the entire package good and bad who ever you choose. Rather choose for correct conformation and idealy not two copies of any of the many defective genes in the breed to improve your mares, as this is probably the sounder (pun not intended)_ way to success overall. The individual horse has to do the rest. Give it hope, let it thrive and never break it's heart.

Gary you just blew the whistle on your industry. So someone did you a favor by making conditions on a race to make your horse eligible. Wouldn't that be considered cheating? Oh and you were Greatful not only did your horse get in but Holy be jesus he won too. If your looking for reasons why harness racing has been in the gutter for years look no further than your statement. Hell you even interrupted your guest while he was in the middle of his presentation to announce to the world that its about cheating. Thanks ill never go to a harness race again, Oh is there someone I might talk to to lure me back. Joking aside I'm disgusted.
@TheNobleLoyalist Жыл бұрын
I would never bet on harness racing anyway there's far too many unknown variables simply and solely because of the harness themselves. It seems to me in harness racing that if your horse that you like doesn't immediately start a head out of the gate or at least one or two behind it has no chance of maneuvering

What is the definition of a "Graduate"?
@WasabiVenturesStables Жыл бұрын
That is a term we use for people at Wasabi Ventures Stables who "graduate" from owning small single percentages of horses to 20% of a horse and become a listed owner.

I missed my calling. I think I would have made a good bloodstock agent. Whenever I see a winning race horse, I check its pedigree for the large heart factor, knowing it gets passed through the female line. I have a word of caution for breeders trying to get another Secretariat that can do what Secretariat did in the Belmont Stakes. I've noticed a lot of horses with the large heart factor can end up having heart or circulatory issues.

I quit betting on horses. Racing secretaries have ruined racing for me. The complicated conditions make it too hard to handicap. I prefer non winners of the year, or non winners of 2 of the year at different class levels. Oh well, I get a lot more work done around the house now, so I shouldn't complain.
