Danny does not cease to amaze me. That man was born to play the guitar. Musical genius. He literally copied that fiddler's style and played it back to him on the guitar. Unfreakingreal. Wow. Long live Danny Gatton

Guy was one of the best. So glad I discovered him. That first tune was perfection. Every trick in the book played in perfect clinical surgical form. Musical yet technical.

What I like is that you can hear every note. No shredding, no string bending just pure guitar chords. Ahhh the good old day's.

Sounds Good. Hi Bob, this is Jim Pulsifer from San Diego, long time! I really appreciated all the cassettes of Roy and Danny you sent me back in the day!...it's been like 30-40 years now! I'm still playing! I would love to contact you sometime. What is your contact info?

Holy shit! I have this CD never thought I’d hear it live.they give it the total Telstar treatment. .OMG!!. .i have all their records and saw them live in Portland OR after the first album was released. Totally awesome band. Don’t know about this current line up but one of the founding members was Danny Amis who was part of The Raybeats. Their album Guitar Beat, long out of print is straight up classic. Not sure if Danny is still with us due to serious health complications, no longer tours with the band.

Dickie was also incredibly humble. He taught me how to frame pictures where we both worked at an art store in Wheaton Plaza, and was patient beyond belief. I can't count how many pieces of glass I trashed, and he was just kind and coached me along until I actually became a pretty decent picture framer myself. Such a sweet decent man. Still miss him.

I saw him perform on the Blues Peer festival in Belgium, July 1994 and I was of course very impressed. It was his first and last performance in Belgium, as he decided to end is life just 3 months later. We probably did not applaud him loud enough...

Danny is what I call a gadget player....doing guitar gymnastics designed to impress other guitarists. The "student" is phenomenal however....I wish I knew who it was. He perfectly blends speed with melodicism.....not many guys that I've heard can do that.

that man left Roger Miller speechless on the Orange Blossom Special.....gnarliest guitar run ever. Never will or has been a picker like Danny Gatton.
