Salem Alaikom beautiful lecture Jazak Allah Kheir. Just a question a lot of the Lebanese community give a Mahr of furniture and material things for the house or a trip o the Hajj. Can these be acceptable for the Mahr? The brides have no idea what the Mahr actually is. This is a cultural based and the deferred payment should be a divorce compensation. How is this the Mahr?

When I shared "if you cant be with me at my worse, you don't deserve to be there at my best" because I was struggling with separating from my abusive family and having poor health... if my lived one cant be empathetic to my struggles then he doesn't love me or deserve to share in the triumph and overcoming those struggles. I would be supportive and empathetic to my loved one I expect the same in return. Being at my worse doesn't mean my worse behavior it mean being in my worse condition, I cope as best as I can when these hardships bear down on me.
