HI! How long walk is from the cable car station to the 11:28?
@walkwonderful32722 жыл бұрын
Hi Jarkko. You mean, if you walk straight along the top from the cable car to the lookout? It's not far...maybe less than 1km..

A nice meandering walk all. Interesting about the field - it survived or the flowers did. It appeared a really mellow walk what with the picnic and the docile cows. We love em! I imagine the river was a pleasant highlight. It looked to be flowing peacefully. Well, getting to know your area now. Good going. Mark

03:02 Ah The Unicorn, you may have missed the small plaque on the wall, this pub was where C.S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien used to meet for a few drinks. The Priory Church and the grounds around it with the gas-powered street lights were an influence on Lewis for his book The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.
@walkwonderful32723 жыл бұрын
Thats cool, I didn't know that.
@RitchAmes3 жыл бұрын
@@walkwonderful3272 it's local folklore. They used to meet in the pub, and walk the hills. Tolkien was said to be inspired by the hills for his writing, definitely the creation of "The White Mountains of Gondor", from the Lord of the Rings. For Lewis, it was one winter's night stroll back in the snow from the Unicorn pub, that a signal gas light inspired Lewis and the description of the Narnian wood - but Durham Uni also make this claim...

@walkwonderful32724 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzanne. It was the Ranweli spice garden in Kandy, and there are very many spice gardens all over Sri Lanka. They are mostly aimed at tourists, because most of us are very familiar with all the spices in our kitchens, but have never seen the plants these spices come from. - Claire and Ian

@walkwonderful32724 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. The malvern hills aren't that big. Sure, the brecon beacons nearby are bigger, but I think its because of the views. It's the tallest hill in what is pretty flat around. So you can see so far. Also it's not a massively tough climb to get the views as a payoff. I think that's what makes the malverns so popular. That's why I'll be back again.
