Nice try the idea was appreciated. Unfortunately, it's worthless because you only told how you things. Taking the time to actually show the removal, then the placement of the seals would of been helpful. Actually, each step would have been good to SEE. BTW, the music was unnecessary and irritating.

I was hesitant to try this until I watched your video. I have the exact same cylinder on my splitter so this video was really helpful for me. I purchased the exact same seal kit and it fit perfectly. Thank you.

Would have liked to actually SEE how you removed and install the new seals! You skipped over that during the video! And which tool did you use to remove them?

Good video. I would have liked to see if you had to prime your main fuel filter, or how to do so properly. Thanks for sharing!

Overall, great video. Very helpful. I’ve got to swap out the seals in my cylinder that were leaking horribly. Your video showed me exactly what I needed to do even if there is a slight variation in the style or design. Again this video was Very helpful, Thank you again!

That's called liquefaction. Or aquafaction. The top soild is compressed so tight the underwater can't get through and that layer sort of "floats" on top.

At 4:41 - instead of using a dowel rod which will only put pressure on one side of the gland. I removed the cylinder, stood it upright, secured it in place so it wouldn't fall over (or you could have a helper hold it for you if one is available). pushed the shaft all the way into the cylinder and using a 9" piece of schedule 40 PVC and holding the operating lever open, tapped the PVC and the gland moved back from the retaining ring quite easily and as far as I needed to give me clear access to the ring. Using a screwdriver and the opposite side from the gap I was able to move the ring inward, which lifted the split ends and pulled the ring out with a pair of pliers. It's important to know that even any air pressure in the cylinder will make moving the gland difficult so the operating valve must be kept open to eliminate and internal cylinder pressures. This is the hardest part of the entire seal replacement operation, however, tapping on the gland evenly applies pressure around the entire circumference and does not allow the gland to bind which happens when applying pressure on only one point. If you have a helper you can even hold a small piece of board on the end of the PVC. You will be surprised as to hoe easily the gland will move without any pressure in the cylinder. It's best to remove the t hoses the feed the valve assembly which will lose a little oil, but empty that unit. Any oil or air in the cylinder will make removing the gland very difficult and require more force than necessary to move it away from the retaining ring.

DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT turn on to try and push plate back in like the video instructed! It will blow out and hydraulic fluid will go everywhere! The plate flew about 30 yards away and could kill you if your standing in front of it!!! USE DOWELL ROD AND HAMMER TO GET THE PLATE BACK IN!!!!

Nice Video - I used 2x4 Blocking and Car Scissor Jack to push Piston Rod out. Wasn’t easy. There was Corrosion on bottom of inside Cylinder that was removed with Scotchbrite pad. Time to disassemble was 3 hours.
