Please do not use Domestika. I purchased a single course on Domestika, and without my consent, they automatically included a Domestika Plus subscription. I was charged again later without any notification. To make matters worse, I can't even use the service in my country because the website doesn't work here. I feel completely scammed. Avoid this platform at all costs!

I prefer the slim grip on the staedtler. All them other ones are so thick for no reason. Maybe faber castell is a slim pen too. But the staedtler feels so nice

Hmm… I didn’t think I had the equipment but with an iPhone camera, little phone tripod and small ring light, I think I might actually have everything I need to get started. 🤔

10 and 12 are just identification numbers. They are not 1.0 and 1.2. 10 refers to 0.6 mm line width and 12 to 0.7 mm line width.

Signed up, can't access and Domesteka support is a joke. Nothing but canned responses and loads of complaints on the internet which unfortunately I found AFTER I paid. You need to offer the course on a different platform!

"spiritual inspiration" can also be from the evil spirits and everyone who has taken the experimental gene therapy drug injections has followed evil spirits. In all of the history of the world, people who force/coerce others to do things against their bodies are NEVER the good guys.

Thanks very much for a great video. I really love Domestika as it's so professional and a real creative hub as you described it. I also love that after paying for a course on Domestika it's always there to return to and watch again. I love Patreon if you want to follow a specific creator but that has varying monthly fees depending on the creator, but most have quite low monthly costs for a LOT of add free videos which are far more in depth than KZbin, and also provide other resources as part of the monthly fee. For a specific creator Patreon is by far the best. I use Patreon for my three favourite artists, and Domestika for different courses that interest me, like watercolour technique, drawing in pen and ink, bookbinding and music. Take care, David. Xxx

HI thank you so much for your video. I found it very helpful as I did with your Skillshare vs Domestika vs KZbin video - however just a note, I found your voiceover to be too soft and I had my mic on max. I had to turn on a separate speaker to hear you. Maybe it's the music that is drowning out your voice? Just a feedback for the convenience of your other viewers.

I'm commenting in Dec. 2023. As someone who has taken classes on both SkillShare and Domestika as well as having watched tons of KZbin videos, I wanted to add my voice to your comments. Hands down, Domestika has the best courses, followed by KZbin videos. I totally agree with you about SkillShare instruction being all over the place in terms of quality. For me, the biggest drawback with SS is having to pay the monthly fee in order to access classes. I tend to be slow to do course projects, so if I find a course that seems to offer something valuable, I have to keep paying a fee in order to access the lesson when I finally get around to wanting to work on the project. It's this feature alone that prevents me from using SS. I'm a BIG fan of Domestika where I've purchased over 100 courses and have signed up for their membership plan that gives you free access to 1000+ courses, includes the ability to keep 1 course per month, and gives you special discounts on courses when you prepay. Being able to view free courses before purchasing is a great way to assess weather or not a course is right for you to purchase. I love that for around $6-$8 I can purchase a course and work on it at my leisure. Domestika has been an extremely valuable resource as I work toward becoming a professional illustrator. I sincerely appreciate that I can go back and rewatch any course I've purchased. I do rewatch the courses and find I still learn new things. Domestika classes are generally high quality, but I do have issues with the subtitles for some of the courses. Although the playback speed can be slowed to allow you to more easily read subtitles with enough time to watch the demos, I've found that the names for art supplies are not translated accurately from other languages into English. This often causes confusion. Additionally, some of the presenters, especially those from Mexico, use a lot of slang which is translated literally. When this happens, it's almost impossible to comprehend the instruction. While many instructors participate regularly in the forums, some Instructors do not. When an instructor doesn't participate in the forum, your questions about supplies or other issues related to the course go unanswered. In mid-2023, Domestika switched to a new translation service that is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! The subtitles are not synced with the presentation, therefore, you see the instructor speaking, but you don't get the subtitles, or, you get the subtitle before the concept is presented. To make matters worse, the subtitles now cover the lower part of the screen which makes it impossible to see the demonstration. To make matters even more worse, the new subtitles are often 4 lines long. When this happens, the entire screen is obliterated AND the subtitles disappear before you can actually read them, even when playing the videos at reduced speed. Hopefully Domestika will address this problem, but I've decided to only purchase courses in English to avoid the horrible subtitles. Domestika courses all include additional resources which are documents or websites that give more detail about what was included in the course. The additional resources are always in the same language as the presentation. If the additional resource is a website, it's not a problem if you have Google translate installed on your computer because you can tell Google to automatically translate into English. However, many of the additional resources are in PDF format. Unfortunately, Google cannot translate PDFs so you simply miss out on those resources. Another thing that bugs me about Domestika, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your background, is that Domestika strives to make courses comprehensive for beginners, therefore, every course usually includes lessons about mind mapping, color theory and finding resources. As someone who came to Domestika with an art school background, I'm really over seeing yet another lesson about these topics. On the plus side, Domestika has been very responsive to my constructive criticisms in the past. I have contacted them about the problems with subtitles in the past (which were definitely addressed) as well as the issues with new translation service I've outlined above. I've also suggested that Domestika offer free foundational courses in mind mapping, color theory and places to find resources to avoid redundancy from one course to the next. Despite the complaints outlined above, I still highly recommend Domestika. My advice for anyone considering purchasing a Domestika course is to read the reviews carefully. This will help you avoid purchasing low quality courses or courses with translation issues. BTW, I recommend both of Lizzie's courses.

I appreciate you taking the time to do a comparison. I've been flirting with a few Domestika courses. And just how you explained Domestika is exactly the vibe that I get from the website and the course previews. Everything seems very professional and the courses seem to be of high quality. Thank you for sharing this! Hoping you do well with your course.

Thanks for the useful video! May I ask how long you waited for their response? Unfortunately, Domestiika does not even give approximate terms 😔 Is it necessary to fly to another country to shoot a video? I thought they gave clear requirements for video and sound quality and you could do it in any local studio 😬

Domestika is best in my opinion for paid courses. skillshare is the worst. Very short courses & they are mostly YT tutorial like quality. Their pricing is also shady. Udemy is ok. The benefit of Udemy courses are they are long & in depth compared to Skillshare. Domestica stand outs cuz of the quality of professional artists . each of Their vidoes are high quality. Anyway Master of all is KZbin. No one can beat KZbin.
