Inficon is short on the details in its brochure and manual. Please help fill in some needed details. CO2-- In this video, it shows CO2 analysis, but in the manual, it says CO2 calculated. Calculated is not the same as analysis. If calculated, using what and how? N2 is not used, not measured, or what? As much H2O is knocked out in the trap as possible and not measured. (sort of a given) So the CO and O2 are measured. The percentages shown are presumed to be "by volume", but what is included in that? Is CO2 (calc), N2 (calc), H2O (would have to be calc), CO2 in the water (calc), CO (measured), O2 (measured)? What is the typical sensor life?

To measure R513A with HLD6000 you need to have a Smart hand probe for HLD6000 and set the user gas factor as described in the video or operating manual. The user gas factor for R513A is 0.644 and R513A can be calibrated with a Cool-Check (internal calibrated leak) as described in the operating manual. Love my Dtek Stratus. Just wish there was an additional sensor that could be purchased that allowed it to do combustible gas detection too instead of just flammable refrigerants.

The flammable refrigerant sensor will detect most heating gases but it is not recommended due to the potential exposure to dangerous levels (LEL) levels of gas. Found a leak on a king valve using Nu Cal soap. Tiny bubbles were being emitted, the Inficon stratus detected 10pm. Used the whisper for fun and it couldn’t pickup the noise from the bubbles, add in background noise of other fans and compressors running and that was it. Was super disappointed in this product. Was hoping to add ultrasonic to my arsenal, will explore Bacharach instead for this type of leak detection.

Can a plastic bag with tap to seal the ends around a test subject be filled with helium as in a hot air ballooning effect but sealed around the test subject then the helium be sprayed into the plastic bad by making a little hole then taping the hole in the bag to say the container is now full of helium be used as a container while the test subject is being vacuumed and hooked up to the leak detection module. Without nitrogen being used prior to the vacuum to deplete the air out of the test subject so they just vacuumed and said the oxygen was no longer present. I've got a question about cleaning the measurement chamber: How critical is it to clean down in the outer corner of the bottom with the Scotchbrite pad? It's fairly straightforward to clean the walls and bottom of the chamber, but that outer corner is just hard to reach without a lot of extra effort. Does the entire inside of the measurement chamber need to be clean, bare stainless? Or is it okay to leave a trace of deposits in that outer corner of the bottom pocket?

Hello, we use your Helium Sniffer Leak Detectors Protec P3000(XL), the analyzer very often reacts to false helium leaks, after the sniffer reacts to a leak, we apply a soapy solution but we cannot detect anything, we have done calibration many times, but this does not improve the situation, maybe we are doing something wrong and we need technical support .

Refrigerant leak detectors like D-TEK Stratus, D-TEK 3 and TEK-Mate can be used to detect R404a. To detect pure nitrogen, use Whisper Ultrasonic Leak Detector. When it comes to combustible gases, use an intrinsically safe leak detector, such as GAS-Mate. GAS-Mate is also a great option to detect 95% nitrogen/5% hydrogen (forming gas). Leak proof when it leaves the factory. Once it’s in the field the copper vibrates from running and eventually a rubs a hole in the tubing somewhere, but hey the factory did their job. Mr Homeowner you may just need to consider trashing this unit and buying another one because this will be an expensive repair.

Hello Jose, The actual leak detection works via sniffer leak detection. The part to be tested is filled with a tracer gas (typically air mixed with a certain amount of helium). In case of a leak, the tracer gas escapes from the part and will be sucked in by the little tube at the end of the robot arm. A helium leak detector connected to the other end of the tube detects the helium as an indication of the leak. @@inficon My friend, I ve 4 sentrac with 4 robots and we have serious problems to work fine. The forming gas is 95 N and 5%H. Is very complicate if not impossible to do running this device like automatic system. Please I would like to know where do you have a similar systems, robot with sentrac, not with helium and tubes or pipe, im speaking about a big open part for example a battery box.
